BEWARE: THIS IS *NOT* BUILDCALC
By MooKahn (Pcmac user)
AVOID THIS APP. The developer unfortunately selected a name that is close to “BuildCalc” which is an excellent, best of breed feet-inch calculator. OTOH THIS app should not be available at all, and the fact that Apple let it slip through makes me question their review process. It’s ad-riddled and based on other issues would make me worry about security issues because it is so poorly written
1) The ft/in conversations do not work. It returns crazy values such as 11’-11 856/125”.
2) Terminology and variables used won’t make any sense to a carpenter. What does“stud width” mean..thickness? Depth? and why would you need to enter that to calculate the number of studs in a wall?
3) It crashes - constantly
I will say the idea for the interface has some merit. It’s just nowhere near ready for prime-time. Back to the drawing board.
