What is Pediatric Asthma Risk Score? The Pediatric Asthma Risk Score (PARS) is a scoring system that predicts the risk of developing asthma in young children. It is based on research published in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology and is superior to the existing Asthma Predictive Index (API) with an 11% increase in sensitivity. By answering six simple questions about eczema, wheezing, race, sensitization status, and parental asthma history, families and clinicians can determine a child's personal risk of developing asthma.
