This is an easy version, appealing to both the eye and surprisingly, even the sound loop did not interfere, as most do to the point of requiring an ‘off’ sound option—I didn’t need it here. With that said, I found it rather monotonous, pleasing, and just as addictive in terms of trying to beat a clock, but that simply isn’t enough. Yes, the patterns changed but I don’t believe the challenge intensified, neither was there a goal or cumulative points as one moved through successive games. I have found some form of reward system an intrinsic part of the addictive element. The more important or valuable, even if a perceived value to the player, keeps that player invested. I enjoy word, math and intellectually challenging games but in the case of the app, I enjoy the hand-eye, speed challenge against a clock w/ever-changing patterns to test that skill. This game allows me to practice that skill but without the rewards I have enjoyed on my preferred versions of the app.
