Download an Android emulator for PC:

Install the emulator:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "Cappy AR 3D Scanner"
The search will reveal the Cappy AR 3D Scanner app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once Cappy AR 3D Scanner is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including Cappy AR 3D Scanner.

To get started, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto "Playstore on PC" » click "Configure_Download" button. This will auto-download and install PlayStore on your computer.

To use Cappy AR 3D Scanner,
- Login to the PlayStore we just installed
- Search for "Cappy AR 3D Scanner" » then Click "Install".
- Cappy AR 3D Scanner will now be available on your Windows start-menu.

Almost the best thing ever... if you're a 3D Artist.

I've wanted a 3D scanner for years. I've never had the extra two thousand dollars lying around to buy one. I want to produce a lot of extremely accurate models. of various items, gadgets, retro technology. anything. characters. figures. my face IRL. and it's like some futuristic dream to wake up to this app. it uses the iPhone x true depth camera. that's it. genius. piggyback ing off of Apple's massive investment. there's only one problem. and It baffles me. I don't understand this particular market or whatever the rationale is behind having this 3D scanner. scanning in amazing basemesh to simply retopology. save days. And... U CANT EXPORT THE 3D MODELS YOU'VE SCANNED IN. essentially making this entire technology and App... useless. Sorry. but it's probably marketing's fault.

Right now, this app is more of a hobbled tech demo than a fully featured tool. When Scandy shared video of their tech demo, I was very excited, but this app doesn’t fulfill the promise shown in that video. Why are scans limited to 10 seconds? Why do I need to upload to their service? Why can’t I download my models? Why does it need to access my contacts? Hopefully in future updates they’ll unhobble what appears to be actually fairly good scanning under the hood.

Great job guys, I knew eventually there will be an app capable of doing such thing. If possible please consider adding an option to export .STL files and also being able to scan for a longer time (right now its only 10 seconds).

I wish it would just let me scan, preview, and export a model to iCloud Drive to import into my 3D software. The AR part seems gimmicky. If this was just a 3D scanner I’d give it 5 stars. It doesn’t need to be a social network. I’d pay for that app. I don’t want any sign-up or sign-in for this. There is no way to delete your scan once you save it! Why? It would also be nice if it could capture a texture map simultaneously.
