Top Pcmac Reviews

Fantasy is my favorite genre but this game missed the mark. My review will be short and to the point! Usually I enjoy offerings from Grandma Studios, but I feel this game had too many technical issues which made it tedious to play rather than entertaining. I found that the game was not reacting properly, like things were happening in “slow-motion.” The graphics were quite blurry, or they would have been spectacular. Finding the glass shards was torture on the eyes, and if you don’t find them all you don’t get the extra chapter. There were touch-screen sensitivity issues in play, and at times it was difficult to combine items in the HO scenes, or to apply inventory tools, and hard tapping was necessary. In addition, it was hard to find where exactly the inventory bar had its labels, and I can’t always remember what an item is or where I need to use it. The storyline was unoriginal. Most of the puzzles were of the boring and uninspiring rotational genre. However this was the only offering we received from BigFish this week so I purchased the game. The actual gameplay did hold my interest and there was a plethora of tasks to accomplish at each location. My rating will remain at 3 stars for average. BigFish, at least distribute games that run properly! The game had already been updated before its release and it still did not work well. Happy gaming to all!

It has been a while since Big Fish gave us a new adventure game of this caliber. Grandma Studios has two game series: the app of Light and Whispered Secrets. the app of Light is far superior. Check out Tree of Dreams if you haven't played it yet. Anyway, the only aspect of this game I didn't like were the muddy pastel graphics, which made it seem outdated. The game is otherwise very much up to date, with a teleporting map, configurable difficulty, and robust hint system. You have an owl companion who plays a very active role. Each scene is highly interactive, with many Easter eggs to discover. The only collectible is mirror shards, and the game tracks for you how many are left in each stage. Hidden object puzzles are novel and varied, as are the mini games. Several hours of gameplay, including a bonus AND hidden chapter. Buy on sale while you can!
  • Painfully Slow

    By catalina5 (Pcmac user)

Really disappointed in this game. It felt very clunky, slow to respond and old. Inventory of collected items were not labeled, so you had better remember everything that you collect and will need to use later. Storyline, I felt was disjointed with lot’s of pointless running around. The mirror and finding ruins has been used so much in other games that it is tiresome. After only getting 1 new release, this was a Huge Disappointment. The graphics for me were very hard on my eyes, blurry and just to much sparkle ( cannot put my finger on why they gave me a headache. Finding shards as collectibles was not fun and to hard to spot with the coloration of the scenes. Sure hope to see a much better game this next release and that Big Fish 🐠 does not short us this upcoming week. Hopefully, some of you find this more entertaining than I did. • Not great at all, sorely disappointed.

This is the first game sold by BFG that I haven’t purchased the full version in a REALLY long time. The graphics are busy and far too bright. Literally everything is shining and glowing. The action is slow and labored. The interface is horrible. Graphics aren’t great. The HOP I played was okay in that it was unique, but it didn’t explain instructions at all, and at first was confusing. Also, the demo only played through the 3rd scene which is highly unusual, and wasn’t enough time to get immersed in the storyline so I felt I had to continue, like other games. It wasn’t even really a cliffhanger, just a wolf pulling something out from under a bed. 🤷‍♀️ Not impressed. I’m sad because I wanted to play a game tonight, but don’t want to waste money on this! Guess I just have to wait for the next one. 😞
