  • Hiding the subscription fee

    By MisstyChick (Pcmac user)

First, if you’re going to offer paid membership, let the customers know in a clear and conspicuous manner. If your service is a subscription with recurring charges, just say so, and be clear about it. That’s it. Yes, I admit I did not read the “summary” box in the App Store because the Commercial on the TV for the app did not mention anything about a monthly fee. Until I download it, then you see the “7 day free trial” This is why the app have so many 1 star reviews and will continue to do so. Second, for those who do not want to spend the monthly fee, there are other developers that offer high quality, up to date content, and ad-free: “ABC Kids-Tracing & Phonics” and “Baby Games- Piano, Baby phone”. Or the one time paid app for $3.99: “Preschool and Kindergarten games” It teaches ABC, pronunciation, shapes, counting, adding, etc. No, I am not the developer or some kind of paid sponsorship. I am just helping out.
  • Thanks for the reviews

    By WXGD1750hhy (Pcmac user)

Sure am glad I read the reviews because I was tempted to download after watching the commercial on TV. So far, everyone is correct in saying the commercial does not mention a subscription will be required. I also noticed that when the App people responded, they never addressed this “error of omission on their part “. Instead they avoided that complaint completely and spoke of how they used the subscriptions to pay for further development of their app....obviously avoiding addressing the original problem. I have lost respect for Baby First since they condone this app. I thought they were better than the others. Mind you, this tactic of sucking people into recurring subscriptions that they can never seem to get out of is quite common, albeit despicable and this company is no exception. ABC Mouse has earned this reputation as well. Users beware and READ THOSE REVIEWS!!
  • We will see....

    By kkollatz (Pcmac user)

I signed up for the free trail knowing that there was a subscription service. However I was charged for the yearly subscription and then my app was completely locked. Not only did I not want the subscription but now I can’t even use it since I have a year paid for. When I reached out for support I was not helped. All I wanted was the app to work or get my money back. None of those things happened. Updated: you can’t use a third party email app to email them which is annoying if you don’t use the phones email. I’ll have to update you all if my son actually likes the app. I now have full access.
  • Awesome App for my 3 Year Old!

By Adam L, BX (Pcmac user)

My son and I are huge fans of the Baby First TV channel. It’s comforting to know that my son can continue to access quality educational content with all his favorite characters on the go using my iphone in a user friendly and safe environment. The ability for us to sing along together or learn the different instruments and colors really makes subscribing to this app that much better! Thanks Baby First...:)
