Response to developer's tips: Changing review to 5 stars, though I knew all of this already about the app Control. Would still love to be able to hold down two (or even three) modifiers and begin scrolling and the app starts being adjusted right away - no other hotkeys needed. The very first scroll command might make the page of whatever app I'm in move a tiny bit, but then the the app Control window would appear under the cursor and the rest of the scrolling would adjust the app (as it does now). The window would disappear on its own briefly after I stop adjusting the app. This is how DarkAdapted works. I recommend trying that app out on a machine with Mojave or earlier and replicating its functionality. Original review: I like this app, but I used to use DarkAdapted, which Catalina will render useless because the developer is no longer updating it. With DarkAdapted, I was able to adjust the brightness of my display with my scroll wheel by simply holding down the modifier keys of my choice (I chose Option and Command) and scrolling up and down. DarkAdapted would intercept the scrolling and adjust the brightness either up or down. the app Control can do similar, but it doesn't start adjusting right away, and you have to press a keyboard shortcut to make the brightness slider appear. I'm using Keyboard Maestro to at least get the brightness slider to appear by pressing Command-Option-Mouse Button 3, but I would love to be able to adjust brightness right away by scrolling up or down without having to make the window appear first.
