1. The data include the number, rates and causes of deaths from NCDs and trends in NCD mortality; the prevalence of selected risk factors; and information describing current national responses to prevention and control of non-communicable diseases.

Most of these premature deaths from NCDs are largely preventable by enabling health systems to respond more effectively and equitably to the health-care needs of people with NCDs, and influencing public policies in sectors outside health that tackle shared risk factors—namely tobacco use, unhealthy diet, physical inactivity, and the harmful use of alcohol.

3. NCD Data Finder presents information for each country related to their NCD mortality, prevalence, risk factors and national systems capacity to prevent and control NCDs.
