  • Great except for some of the instructors

    By masha7935 (Pcmac user)

I love this app for a lot of things. I started using this instead of Orange Theory as it was the same kind of workout but way cheaper and on my own time. However, some of the instructors annoy me so much. I swear, a lot of the time I’m 50% enjoying my workout and 50% sweating internally at the instructors. My biggest complaint is many of them speak WAY too much. I like to get into the music when I’m running, and I enjoy to be motivated and pushed but not even 10 seconds. I have to keep turning up and down my volume; 10 seconds of music pumping through my earbuds and flowing through me, followed by 20 seconds of quickly having to lower my volume because of the shrill voice of an instructor. Seriously, we don’t need “instruction” or “motivation” so often. The least you can do is allow us to filter the instructors by how much they talk and the music:speaking ratio. A lot of them also mess up. Cmon, you can do better. I’m sure talking into a microphone for 30 minutes is not that difficult of a job. But when we’re supposed to be having a 2 minute rest and they forget and go right into another sprint 1 minute in, it’s really annoying. So please, keep this app up, it’s great. Just get better instructors.
  • Not quite there...

    By Bellmar_ (Pcmac user)

This app is nice but frustrating. There is very little information about what each workout is before you start it and is available is frequently wrong (the 30 minute workout I just finished went on for 40 minutes) I find it very hard to pace myself correctly because I have no information about what’s coming up. Should I give this sprint my all because I’ll get a walking recovery immediately after or will the instructor ask me a run for another two minutes? I have a wonky IT Band and want to lay-off inclines while it recovers. You would think workouts with inclines would be clearly labeled and you would be wrong. On the sculpt workouts instructors give you instructions for five or six exercises all at once and then count on you to remember how many reps in what order. Most of these problems could be solved by improving the interface: show me what the workout looks like before I start it and lose the leaderboard in favor of something that tells me what I’m supposed to be doing at that given moment instead so that when the instructor decides to tell us a story about their personal mental health journey in the middle of class I don’t miss out on an exercise.
  • Could not love this app more!

    By kmilli018 (Pcmac user)

I love that this app offers cardio and weight training classes of all types and lengths. It makes it super easy to push myself if I’m feeling strong that day or find a short class for days when I don’t really feel like working out but know that I should. I’m the kind of person who loves to workout but won’t push myself past my limits if I’m working on my own. That’s what is so great about the this app app—I just listen to what the instructors tell me and do the best I can...and usually it’s always better than what I would do on my own. It’s like being in a group class without the trouble of making it on time somewhere. I hope they come out with other types of classes like Pilates or Yoga
  • Good classes/ bad app

    By 1runningyogi15 (Pcmac user)

Let me start by saying that the classes in the app are great. If all you want to do it take the classes and not worry about connecting to your Apple Watch go for it. Though, it’s a bit expensive if that’s all you are getting. The app itself is horrible. I’ve had it for 4 months and it’s been nothing but problems. Major problems, such as it won’t sync with my watch. I have to delete the app and reinstall it each and every time I want to use it. I’ve contacted support several times. They offer solutions (like delete and reinstall) that work once but never permanently. They promise to fix the problems with “the next update” but I’ve yet to see any fixes. The app can also be a lot more user friendly. You should be able to filter classes to find your favorites but the filter section always seems to show no results or show some but not include classes that I know are there and fulfill what I’m looking for. There are so many way to make this app great but they just aren’t doing it. A big thumbs down from me.
