2. You must work against the game to gather the eight oneiric doors before the deck runs out.

3. Those cards are hidden in the deck and will trigger painful dilemmas when drawn.

4. Wander through the chambers of dreams, hoping that chance will reveal the doors, or linger in each type of room.

7. In both cases, you will have to decide the best use of each card in your hand and carefully play around the Nightmares.

  • Great game!

    By dingokitty14 (Pcmac user)

Very easy to learn (the tutorial takes you step by step), beautiful art, and requires both skill and luck to do well in the game. My only complaint is that there's no undo option. I'm not one to cheat, but I do often mess up by touching the card to the right or left of the card I want (I think my fingers are too fat/slippery) which can be really irritating when it happens often :( I'm not a competitive person, so I don't care about my statistics, so I get how an undo button can screw with that. However, I think there could be an option to turn that off for a "rankings" game? Other than that, it's a lovely game. My husband and I are ordering the tabletop version soon!
  • Latest expansion has bugs but great game otherwise

    By pbeasi (Pcmac user)

I'm glad this game keeps getting expanded because I really enjoy each new mechanic. They've also addressed some issues with speed and frame rate that definitely make the app shine! However, the latest expansion has some bugs. Sometimes the Chromatic Chaos denizen fails to trigger. Thus, you make a match of three cards you've already got all the doors for in that color expecting to use then denizen you've rallied to open a different color door, but you do not get the option and instead the deck just automatically reshuffles. Other times you get all of the other doors with Chromatic Chaos symbol. Also the Hammer Bird doesn't always trigger correctly. Sometimes it includes too many cards and other times it includes too few cards. For example, let's say these are the cards you've last played: red red multicolor green green green. If you play the Hammer Bird, you expect it to remove all the green cards. Sometimes that works, but sometimes it takes the green cards and the multicolored card too. At that point, playing another red card doesn't trigger a door like you might think, so it's almost like the game doesn't realize it took an extra card. Fix these and keep bringing us more expansions. 😀
  • Fun game, better with expansions

    By FiddlingD (Pcmac user)

This is a fun game, but I got bored with the base game fairly quickly. It is greatly improved by the expansions. I find that the Door to the Oniverse makes it a little too easy to win, but that's ok because it's still fun to focus on beating my own high score, which is challenging. Still, I find that the Glyphs and the Crossroads/Dead ends were the best expansions for adding fun but remaining challenging. I have not experienced the bugs that people complained about. I also saw someone say that you can't win. I struggled at first. Wise key management was what got me over that bump. I recommend this for a relaxing game that requires a bit of strategy but not a ton of focus.
  • Half of the real game.

    By Axominster (Pcmac user)

It’s been 2 months since the last expansion. The physical game includes 7. If you’ve ever played a Shadi Torbey game, you know the games ALWAYS include the expansions (you can’t buy them without). So I’m a little confused why they released this without the expansions. There’s only 3 expansions right now and the game is super easy without the rest. I have to admit I’m quite disappointed the rest of the expansions weren’t released in a timely manner. I feel like I’ve paid for half a game (I also paid for the app at launch) and I’m sitting and waiting months for the other half to come out. I’ve bought every Asmodee game so far (except the Vampire ones) and I have to admit, any more Oniverse games I won’t purchase until the complete game (meaning all expansions) are available. Having said that, I hope they create digital versions for them all. I still give 4 stars because the game is very polished. No bugs. And the team is very responsive. The game is just too easy! If you’re on the fence, go buy one of Asmodees other digital games like Jaipur, Splendor, or Potion Explosion. You won’t be dissapointed!!
