What is MyCareLink Heart? The MyCareLink Heart™ mobile app is a free app that can be used by patients with Medtronic heart devices that have Bluetooth® wireless telemetry for remote monitoring. The app can automatically send heart device information to the patient's clinic, wherever they go, as long as there is cellular or Wi-Fi availability. The app has certain requirements for the phone or tablet and operating system (OS) version, which may change over time. Patients need to contact their doctor to confirm their enrollment in the Medtronic CareLink™ network to use the app.

Software Features and Description

1. You may need to update, or replace, your phone or tablet and OS to use the app to transfer data between your heart device and the Medtronic CareLink™ network.

2. The app cannot transfer data between your heart device and the Medtronic CareLink™ network if those requirements are not met.

3. Patients with Medtronic heart devices that have Bluetooth® wireless telemetry can download this app for free and use it for remote monitoring.

4. To get started, contact your doctor to confirm your enrollment in the Medtronic CareLink™ network.

Install MyCareLink Heart™ app on your Windows in 4 steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC:

To get started, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto "Playstore on PC" » click "Configure_Download" button. This will auto-download and install PlayStore on your computer.

To use MyCareLink Heart,
- Login to the PlayStore we just installed
- Search for "MyCareLink Heart" » then Click "Install".
- MyCareLink Heart™ will now be available on your Windows start-menu.

✔ Pros:

- The app is convenient for traveling as it eliminates the need to carry a large device.

- The app allows for on-demand updates and scheduling of regular transmissions.

- The app has a feature that allows for instant data transmission to the clinic.

☹ Cons:

- The app does not currently allow pacemaker users to review some of the data, which is under consideration but facing pushback from doctors.

- Some users have reported issues with the app not working properly, and Medtronic tech services have not been helpful in resolving the issue.

I am very happy with the app rather than the bedside device. I travel for business and having to think about lugging a large device around was another nuisance. The app on my iPhone is simple and allows me to send an update on demand and schedules my regular transmissions. However, I believe there is room for improvement to allow the pacemaker user to review some of the data. I spoke to my my Medtronic rep at my last appointment and he said this is under consideration but there is pushback from the Drs. I understand some of the concern, but I as the patient should be able to see some of the data. I want to know if I have afib in my history. I am very concerned about afib and it would great to know if it is or has happened.

This app is a wonderful product. Used to have that machine where I lived. Since it could not read my pacer being far away from cell towers, couldn’t use it. Love it, now I don’t have to make monthly visits to Cardiologist. Question: How does one get the “Vitals Tracking” to work? Thank You for this product. Look forward to your answer to my question. Horrible App

I have a Medtronics Pacemaker now for 3 weeks. The MCL Heart app has not worked. I have tried everything possible including deleting the app off my devices and the cloud and reinstalling. The error message says that it can’t access the internet. All my other apps work fine and all the required settings for getting the app to work on my device were correct. The Medtronics tech services have not been helpful at all. The app is designed to send readings to the clinic in case there is a malfunction or issue with my heart. So I am basically alone on an island without any means of support. I give it zero stars.

I just had my Medtronic Azure XT DR pacemaker implanted last week. I downloaded this app and my cardiology clinic approved it on their end and all my data downloaded to my clinic instantly. This feature is GREAT!!! Thank you! However, as a patient, this app would be perfect if you would add several things. #1 Please add a a security passcode option. I don’t want anyone to be able to open my app and see my serial code and model number for my Pacemaker accept me or medical personnel. I love that this information is there for me and for medical personnel, but I would like a passcode option. #2 Please add the ability to for us to see our heart rate. We can add our own data, but I want to know what my heart and my pacemaker are doing. Or would this wear our battery down? It seems to me that this pacer is always on anyway with the my device having Bluetooth built in. But, if so, then please add the ability to see heart rate data after transmission. I think for many people, we have to advocate for our health and want to see our health information. I would like to see and know my heart rate and see the percentage of my pacing. I would give this a 5 for those changes! Really good app so far though. Thank you!
