What is Luts Plas Academie?
Luts Plas Academie is a serious game designed to support clinical treatment for children with incontinence and bladder problems. The game is used in the Wilhelmina Children's Hospital in Utrecht, Netherlands. The game is designed to help children who still have bladder problems after extensive outpatient treatment. The game is played during a ten-day training program in the hospital, where children train in groups of two or three with the help of a urotherapist. The training program is tailored to each child's specific bladder problem and age.
1. Luts Plas Academie is een serious game ter ondersteuning van een klinische (in het ziekenhuis) behandeling voor kinderen met incontinentie en blaasproblemen.
2. • Door het spelen van spelletjes en quizzen kun je je kennis testen en krijg je punten waarmee je je Luts kunt customizen en verdien je trofeeën.
3. • Tijdens de training houd je bij hoe vaak je plast en hoe vaak je nat of droog bent geweest.
4. • Je kunt extra punten en trofeeën verdienen als je hard oefent en je goed bijhoudt hoe vaak je geplast en gedronken hebt.
5. Aan het eind van de training in het ziekenhuis krijg je een certificaat en kijk je samen met de urotherapeut hoe het gaat.
6. • De plasgrafiek, waarbij je direct kunt zien hoe vaak je plast en of je droog blijft.
7. Je maakt kennis met de urotherapeut en je trainingsmaatje en je krijgt uitleg over de training en over Luts.
8. Als een kind van vijf jaar of ouder nog regelmatig nat is, blaasontstekingen houdt, en/of moeite heeft om te plassen kan dat meestal verholpen worden met blaas training.
9. • Luts geeft je uitleg over hoe je blaas werkt en wat je er aan kan doen om droog te worden.
10. Een klinische behandeling is speciaal bedoeld voor kinderen die na uitgebreide poliklinische behandeling (vanuit huis) nog klachten hebben.
11. Je bedenkt samen hoe je thuis kunt blijven oefenen en kunt zorgen dat het goed blijft gaan.
