Top Pcmac Reviews

  • Planner Pro

    By Swymcycle (Pcmac user)

As a calendar only, this app would do. But, the description is highly misleading, and maybe outright dishonest. Very little integration with features is provided. With NO DIRECTIONS or HELP MENU to understand the app, learning is extremely difficult if not impossible. Yes, support did answer both emails I sent asking questions in about 24 hours; however, as I sit down for a fifth attempt to use this app, I’m faced with several more questions. Expecting a buyer to patiently wait days — probably would take weeks — to understand how this app works, is unrealistic. I am far from a novice and have learned dozens of apps over the years on my own. I see this as a scam, and the reasons I do so are numerous, but the first and foremost is that it its features are not integrated and confuses the word project with tasks. There is no useful way to lay out tasks, or steps, of a project; no way to connect notes to tasks. Further, I don’t see how an edit is even possible after an entry is made. One more reason: if you click above “If you need support, please visit this app…” located above the Review dialogue box, you’ll be directed to “Tiny Calendar.” Tiny calendar is exactly what this app is; no more, and when free calendars are everywhere, why buy this!? I will ask for a refund. Now, to figure out how to do that.
  • Love/Hate relationship with this one

This app - in design - is exactly what I need. It allows me to prioritize tasks with A-B-C 1-2-3 (a la Franklin Covey), create “projects” with multiple tasks and varying deadlines, has a notes section, varying calendar views so I can see daily/weekly/monthly, etc. I paid for and downloaded the desktop app, iPad app, and iPhone app as I wanted my info with me wherever I go. My issue has been that items don’t seem to sync, and the desktop app is the only one that has a “refresh” button that I can find. So my IPhone keeps alerting me to tasks that I marked as completed weeks ago on my desktop, and neither my desktop nor my phone are showing calendar events and tasks that I added to my iPad. I want them to automatically sync, and if there’s a way to do it, it’s not intuitive or easy to find (and it’s certainly not automatically happening). Because of the costs associated, this could easily be a 5 star review if the syncing worked more reliably and consistently. As it is, I struggle to get it to work at all most times. If this is remedied, I’ll definitely adjust my review.
  • Could be better for my purposes

    By Lana Lemay (Pcmac user)

I had hoped to be able to play around with it before purchasing, but you can’t do that. I immediately didn’t care for a few things (such as the number of clicks it took to schedule things that weren’t a full hour) and the format for notes. I emailed the company to ask about possible changes or if they offer a refund if you aren’t happy within a few days and I never received a response. The changes I would like to see are: * Making scheduling a little easier. * On the notes section it would be great to be able to change fonts and/or colors. I would use that for my phone messages and would like to use a different color to note that I had returned a call or make notes regarding the conversation. * This would be great if it could be two users becase my husband and I work together and we would both have full access to appointments and notes/messages.
  • I found negative reviews to be unsubstantiated

I was using another electronic the app and changed back to paper because I did not like the weekly layout. Then I found that the weekly layout for this app is much more user friendly. I like the notes on the monthly tab so that comments are easier to find. The app has never crashed, it syncs seamlessly between my MacBook and my iPhone 7, and have had no problems whatsoever. You just have to hit the refresh icon at the top of the page to update changes. I’m back to electronic now, thanks to this app. Finally, to those who don’t like the cost, remember that the one-time fee for the Mac version, and the nominal annual fee for the iPhone version is still significantly less than buying paper refills evey year. Thanks this app for a great app!
