  • Useless… so far

I am not impressed. It is just shows the malls/large shopping districts and parks/zoos nearby. That these types of areas are usually a good place to hunt is no secret. And though it seems like it could be helpful if you were visiting an unfamiliar city unfortunately it only gives locations in a radius of about a 20-minute drive from your current location (which as a desktop app is very limiting). I am already pretty familiar with the locations that close to my home and I suspect most other people considering this app would be too. Planning a Pokémon hunt across the country or around the world? Not with this app! All but one of the locations in my area have the vague message “This location has a high density of Pokemon.” Having already visited most of these locations I would say that "high density of Pokemon” is code for plenty of Pidgeys and Rattatas. And for many of the locations, I believe that “high density” should be replaced with “a few.” They use this same phrase "high density of Pokemon” for both an area that is truly great hunting and one that is a total waste of time and I would never visit again. Worse than that, the locations I would consider to be the 2 best hunting spots in my area (and a place that though not full of Pokémon is full of Pokéstops) are not included in this this app. This app claims "We show you the top 10-20 places in your area, where the Pokemon, Pokestops and Gyms are likely to be located.” I realized too late that the important word in that sentence is “likely.” The have just complied a list of the most “likely” places in any city to have Pokémon but don't really don’t have a clue about actual “the BEST PLACES TO HUNT.” The note “stay tuned for awesome updates” on their app store page plus the constant message in the app “report incorrect or missing info” tells me that they are hoping people who really know good places will fill them in. So let me get this straight… I just paid to tell them the information I paid to get. Wow! If you are brand new to Pokémon Go, don’t know how to use Google to find information online, have not read any articles or talked to anyone about Pokémon Go, you may find this app helpful. Otherwise save your money. In my opinion anyone using this this app has about as much chance of finding good hunting as if they just randomly picked a mall or park on their own. “Secret weapon” my A…bra!
