Glitch in game

I was unable to complete the game due to a glitch. (Spoiler alert!!) At a certain point in the game, a flower design with eight petals appears in a glass coffee maker. The petals of this design are the clue to complete another puzzle with a compass-like design. However, I was not able to complete the next puzzle. For this reason, I sought out an online walkthrough. The walkthrough indicated that four of the flower petals would be white, thus showing how to complete the compass puzzle. The problem is, all eight of the petals were white. Even using the solution given in the walkthrough did not work. I deleted the game without finishing it.
