  • Good for all formats, simple to use, just a few glitches

    By Mimizone (Pcmac user)

Can't complain about this player. It's free and it's compatible with everything I throw at it. I have FLAC of all bitrates, DSD/DSF files, SACD ISO files. Perfect to play music on my work laptop without having to manage a library. I only have issues with 2 things. Audio processing/EQ is not great. It can easily saturate and mess up the audio quality and you will only noticed sometimes in the middle of a song. Sometimes I though I had a bad rip. The 6db on DSD for instance is something you don't want. Also, the option of being able to delete the actual file on the disk from the right click menu is always disturbing me. I am scared of actually deleting a file instead of just removing it from the playlist. But frankly it is only a tiny UX issue. It's free, and can't complain. It's more easy to use than the big players like JRiver that have way too many knobs when you just want to play a track on your disk with a USB DAC.
  • Great direction

I've been following this app for a few versions and each iteration brings in new improvements, both in usability and stability. I'm very impressed by this developer's dedication to continue to perfect what is most certainly the most bang you're going to get for free in terms of music players. Everything from its exhaustive file format support to the ever-improving, intuitive user interface, this player's got you covered. I still find the audio settings a tad confusing (I never know when OSF is applied or how to completely disable it) but you'll also find some pleasant surprises in there such as the A-B looping. It may not be perfect but this app is certainly heading in the right, 5-star direction.
  • Nice and Simple

    By Rotors (Pcmac user)

I am not trying to replace iTunes, but sometimes I don’t need something that big or complex. this app gives me the possibility of playing, listening and deciding whether I want to keep a song and add it to iTunes. It plays a variety of formats, including FLAC, and the display easily allows me to see the format of the file. I don’t want social media connections and so far I don’t have to worry about it with this app. Right now, it has everything I need. Siseong Ahn, keep up the good work!!! Thanks. Edit: Wow! this app can play most of the newly minted formats such as MQA, DSD and some DSF — a pleasantly surprising bonus!!
  • Just what I want, but...

    By resnbl (Pcmac user)

The program works well for me, but I encountered some issues. 1: Downloaded via Mac App Store, but Mojave flagged the app as quarantined, as well as any playlist files created by it (fixed with xattr command). 2: Although it will output a .m3u playlist, the import open dialog only accepts .ppa files, which means I can't use any of the files I created previously.
