What is NCORE CONFERENCE? The NCORE app is designed for attendees of the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity in American Higher Education (NCORE). It is a five-day event that focuses on transforming higher education's mission for diversity and inclusion for students, staff, faculty, and administrators. The app provides a platform for individuals and campus teams to collaborate with recognized and effective practitioners and change makers. Attendees can interact about issues of race, ethnicity, sovereignty, institutional racism, historical discrimination, and social justice from one's own social location and developmental place.
1. At NCORE, a person of color can be in space/place with hundreds of other faculty, staff and administrators of color whose sole purpose is to learn about the most current teaching methods, assessment measures, research methods, demographic research, professional development practices and other higher education support for underrepresented students, faculty and staff.
2. Individuals and campus teams collaborate with recognized and effective practitioners and change makers to transform higher education’s mission for diversity and inclusion for students, staff, faculty and administrators.
3. In the multi-racial/multi-ethnic and intersectional identity space of NCORE attendees interact about issues of race, ethnicity, sovereignty, institutional racism, historical discrimination, and social justice from one’s own social location and developmental place.
