Many mistakes
By LizPdx (Pcmac user)
This is enjoyable and somewhat educational . . . To a point. Some of the definitions are down-right wrong. For instance, it says kamaʻāina means Native the app, but it actually means a resident of Hawaiʻi, regardless of ethnicity, and translates to "child of the land." Anyone from Hawaiʻi would understand the vast difference. The program often uses apostrophes in place of the ʻokina (they are not the same thing), and capitalizes the letter after the ʻokina, which is usually wrong unless it's the first word of a sentence. And there are no kahakōs in the words. This feels crowd-sourced in the worst way, with no one checking for accuracy.

No search capability, no audio to hear pronunciation.
By cindy dusair (Pcmac user)
I spend a great deal of time on the Big Island each year and was interested in learning more about the the app language. In order to do so, I need to be able to look up a word and hear it’s proper pronunciation. Very disappointing!
I will say the photos are beautiful. That is the only value I have found with this app thus far.
Add a search option, translation feature, dictionary, and an audio of each word and this will be a 5 Star app. Until then, 1 star, because 0 is not an option. Keep trying!

This app MIGHT help an alien... but I doubt it!
By Mistifier33 (Pcmac user)
10 years living here and I can assure you this one is a waist of time money and energy it’s not only contradictory but it’s not even close to the true Hawaiin language .
Why doesn’t Apple regulate these apps? I waited 3+ months to see if it was ‘me’ but after sharing with many of Ohana family/friends... they too have confirmed there is no or very little validity to this dictionary! MOVE ON
PLUS they charge you to even look at a word they consider to be the app regardless if it’s wrong ????

Good start
By Kawaimaka (Pcmac user)
It's entertaining and see many nice efforts in this work. For a novice searching for a free app to learn the app, I'd give it a firm 2 star. There are several spelling inaccuracies which gives a a novice a wrong path to build his knowledge on the language. I encourage the author to review his work with better resources and improve his next version. Perhaps find a few native speakers and collaborate and enjoy the journey.
