What is Kinder?

Kinder is a simple and intuitive app that helps parents choose a name for their child. The app has over 18,000 names in its library with a variety of origins. Users can swipe through name suggestions and choose the ones they like. The app also allows users to connect with their partner to find matches and share purchased name sets.

Software Features and Description

1. I don’t think Kinder is the end solution to choose the name for your child, I just hope to inspire, get the discussion going in a positive way and help out! Having a baby is a fun, sacred, but also tiring and possibly stressful time.

2. Through Kinder you can quickly swipe name suggestions you like to the right and dismiss the ones you don’t like.

3. If that doesn’t help it might be your time settings; those must be set to automatic, otherwise the connection mechanism can’t connect you unfortunately.

4. They were having their first child and my question was: ‘How do you find a name?’.

5. You get one name set for free based on your location and if you want you can easily buy additional name sets for a small fee.

6. Kinder is a super simple name choosing app.

7. Purchased name sets will also be available for your partner.

8. If you can’t connect it might be that the connection code is expired.

9. We are very sorry, unfortunately we don’t have a feature to save your likes, dismisses and matches just yet.

Fun app

We have fun with this app. It sparks some good conversations. I really wish there was a way to export the whole list of matched names though. Since our likes aren't linked to an account we can log back into, it seems too easy to lose all the data. Being able to export the list would help. I also really wish there was a way to look at your stats, too. What percentage of names do I like? Would be so fun to know (and compare).
Room for Improvement

Spend so much time going through multiple spellings of the same name. Also, fairly limited classic name selection compared to how many times a single name is spelled a different way or how many just non-names are included. Would be great if you could add your own names or if it was constantly updating with user added names.
Great Way to Track Name Choices

My husband and I have loved swiping through names and seeing what we match (and don't match!) on. The only thing keeping it from a 5-star rating is there appears to be a small glitch; my husband's app is showing a couple matched names that my app has not updated to show, even after completely closing out of the app.
Kind of glitchy

Easy way to track names you like. It’s fun to flip through them and I like that you can choose names from different backgrounds. Overall it’s a pretty glitchy app though. Major trouble connecting to my partners app, then once it connected it wouldn’t show me any of our matches. Now it only shows my matches on girl names, but no boy names. I’ve even changed the setting to boy with no luck. Kind of defeats the purpose of the app.
