Why "MOTHER"?

As a gay father, not having the app option to change the app gender of the app "favorite" animal at the app end to "Father" is a little frustrating. I'm glad I read it first before I read it to my daughter. I'll wait until there might be an update with this option. It's an interesting app, and a beautiful "book." But, does everything have to be "mother" centric to make a child happy?

Both of my kids (4 and 6) love this app! It encourages my younger one (a major mumbler) to speak loudly and clearly. It is really well thought out with minor personalization, beautiful illustration and animation.
