  • WHY didn’t APPLE do this? Thank you Alexander!

    By gutchgal (Pcmac user)

Found this in response to an article/forum. Been a MAC person for a LONG time. The “dumbing” down of programs over the years have been disheartening. PHOTOS was a compete HEARTBREAK! I wasn’t using PHOTOS at ALL because of it’s horrible limitations with photo editing and the inability to simply the app files from other prgrams. The work around (moving to desktop, using, returning to it’s spot) is INSANE to expect, so I abandoned it completely and kept with well established filing system. This app makes it viable for me to at least use PHOTOS for my phone pics for quick facebook and older archived photos. Thank you Alexander for providing what Apple feels they should be REMOVING. If you make more extensions so the Adobe programs (and others) can actually see & the app photos within PHOTOS, than I think you should have Tim Cook’s job! Bravo!
  • "Open in" lives up to promise.

    By Dyscrasia (Pcmac user)

"the app-in" returns the ability to this app a third party editor to the Apple product “Photos". The editing tools available in Photos are not enough for my needs. I need the support of histogram tools and the advanced features in programs like Photoshop® to handle my images, especially those I take through a microscope. “the app-in" does not the app Camera RAW files stored in Photos, but for most things does just fine. • Not working for me with Photos & Athentec Perfectly Clear

    By TommyCat69 (Pcmac user)

I downloaded the "this app” extension from the Apple App Store. I the app “Photos” and then the app an image (double click). I then click “edit” and the extension icon (…) to the app “this app”. "this app” successfully shows Perfectly clear as an option. It opens Perfectly Clear and allows me to edit a photo. I am then saving changes and nothing at all happens to the photo I just edited when viewed back in Photos. I know nothing is happening b/c looks the same and there in no option to “restore to original”. If I manually export a photo out of photos and then use perfectly clear, all works fine. There seems to be some permission issue with Perfectly clear and Mac Photos when using "this app". Makes for a very cumbersome workflow. Would be awesome if this extension worked as it should. Hopefully can be fixed/updated.
  • Did exactly what it says

    By relishgargler (Pcmac user)

Why Photos doesn’t natively allow you to just right/control click and have an “edit in” option is beyond me, but this worked perfectly with the latest version of Photoshop CC (as of Oct 20, 2018). This makes Photos actually kind of useful again.
