What is Heroes and Castles 2? Heroes and Castles 2 is a 3rd person action-RPG, strategy, and castle defense game. The player chooses one of three races, customizes their hero, summons an army to fight beside them, defends their castle, conquers lands, and ultimately destroys the enemy stronghold. The game features castle defense, strategy, and action-RPG gameplay, customizable heroes, huge armies to fight beside the player, castle building and upgrading, an epic single player campaign, cooperative and competitive multiplayer modes, and advanced graphics and features.

Game Features and Description

1. Build Towers, upgrade your castle walls, and defend! Conquer new lands and build outposts to secure them.

2. Behind you atop your castle walls, Dwarf Riflemen unleash a salvo of musket fire into the incoming Orcs.

I’m not going to lie, this has been a very fun game. I’ve been playing for a while now, but there are, with this and every game, some flaws. First of all, in the settings, the only way to turn off the sound of the voice that provides information is by turning all sound off aside from music. His nagging voice every time something happens gets to me, but I like playing with sound on, so that’s one thing. There is also the endless waves of undead. They always attack your castle, and I understand that they are supposed to resemble an unrelenting enemy, but attacking your castle every few minutes (well, days) is really excessive. Not to mention, you only have a few days before you are forced to defend your castle. I don’t have a problem with a time limit to get things done, but the most I’ve seen is 3 days to defend on a castles whereas your outposts give you up to 10 days. Speaking of outposts, the undead can somehow attack anywhere. Logically, if you have a boundary between your territory and your enemy’s territory, your enemy would have to cross your boundary to attack, so they are limited to the outlying outposts, but in this game, the undead ignore boundaries altogether and appear where they please.
Deeply flawed

There are some brutal waves that require certain units. The wave I can’t get past covers the field in goblin rifles. They bring down your character in one or two volleys. The easy answer is use anti ranged defenses. The reality is that goblin rifles aren’t counted as ranged by the game. No normal means of handling them work. And you can’t charge into the field to take them on yourself. You’ll get shot down. If you survive long enough, you end up inundated with spiders. Your character CANNOT survive outside the walls at this point. Then they drop rocketeers. Frickin brilliant. This isn’t the only wave that’s this bad. A lot of waves feel like a dev said, "You know what would be really frickin unfair?" And then did it. That combined with some coding bugs and always overpriced units make the main waves a slog that hangs over you head all the time. This game can be really fun, but the levels are so cruelly designed it simply becomes exhausting at times. PLEASE REWORK IT.

Okay you know how you can get a bow and everything right? Good, I think it would be cool if they made multiple themes for a game with the same concept like for example the American military VS oh I don't know like how about some zombies or bad guys of some sort. And maybe the Romans fighting Greeks or something But an FPS in this game style I would love and this game I've played from the beginning ever since it came out in the first version. It's great, definitely a new kind of defense game. (Edit) Well it's been a year and my opinion hasn't changed one bit but the game just needs some bug fixes and we're all good! Also the game is hard by nature even the easy mode is hard but that's what makes the game worthwhile. Also be sure to check out Nobleman 1896 it's another great game by the awesome devs at Foursaken Media! (Edit 2) For some reason the game seems darker than usual. Some places in the game world which were detailed seem lack luster in color and shine. The detail of the enemies is a lot worse and the overall look of the game has gone down. Devs I need help here can you guys fix this?

The people writing bad reviews expect an extremely easy game with no challange whatsoever. This game gives you a pretty good amount of crystals for defendings and capturing outposts and whatnot. There are toms of ways to get them. And as for the armored skeleton knights, a footmen/pikeman/wood elves is a great combo to use. Im only mentioning that unit specifically because somene else had trouble with it. This game is amazing and is sure to bring you hours upon hours of fun. You will die a fair amount of times but thats just the nature of the game. It doesn’t exactly punish you for dying so if you do, just go capture and defend some out posts for some crystals.
