If you want to install and use the HBO NOW app on your PC or Mac, you will need to download and install a Desktop App emulator for your computer. We have worked diligently to help you understand how to use HBO NOW for your computer in 4 simple steps below:

Step 1: Download an Android emulator for PC and Mac

Ok. First things first. If you want to use the application on your computer, first visit the Mac store or Windows AppStore and search for either the Bluestacks app or the Nox App . Most of the tutorials on the web recommends the Bluestacks app and I might be tempted to recommend it too, because you are more likely to easily find solutions online if you have trouble using the Bluestacks application on your computer. You can download the Bluestacks Pc or Mac software here

Step 2: Install the emulator on your PC or Mac

Now that you have downloaded the emulator of your choice, go to the Downloads folder on your computer to locate the emulator or Bluestacks application.
Once you have found it, click it to install the application or exe on your PC or Mac computer.
Now click Next to accept the license agreement.
Follow the on screen directives in order to install the application properly.
If you do the above correctly, the Emulator app will be successfully installed.

Step 3: HBO NOW for PC - Windows 7/8 / 8.1 / 10

Now, open the Emulator application you have installed and look for its search bar. Once you found it, type HBO NOW in the search bar and press Search. Click on HBO NOW application icon. A window of HBO NOW on the Play Store or the app store will open and it will display the Store in your emulator application. Now, press the Install button and like on an iPhone or Android device, your application will start downloading. Now we are all done.
You will see an icon called "All Apps".
Click on it and it will take you to a page containing all your installed applications.
You should see the HBO NOW icon. Click on it and start using the application.

Step 4: HBO NOW for Mac OS

Hi. Mac user!
The steps to use HBO NOW for Mac are exactly like the ones for Windows OS above. All you need to do is install the Nox Application Emulator or Bluestack on your Macintosh. The links are provided in step one

Download Andriod, Iphone

As a subscriber, I usually know what I want when I open App. The App never seems to know that I am a subscriber. It runs swipe advt promos that are generic, not seemingly geared to that session’s offerings. More than half a dozen times in one session, using the UI takes me to the wrong show or the wrong episode. The search feature is one of worst I have ever encountered—perhaps one part of UI doesn’t know a new episode is available? Why isn’t UI updated to match current advt, for same look & feel. New advt inspiring, makes me feel good about $15/month. UI makes me wonder how one gets charged from consistently difficult to navigate App. The service may deserve Apple Editor’s Choice, not UX. And please highlight the artist of great new song Machines and Butterflies and don’t make someone search elsewhere for details on HBO content! Movie search navigation interminable; does any other search feature on any App/site make you go back to the beginning of the alphabet after looking at details of one movie? And as written before: one of main reasons for subscribing is Real Time: your search regularly can’t find latest episode! If Bill Maher knew that he couldn’t find his own show with HBONow, likely upset? You folks have content any UX designer would jump to design with, so you must not have the team you need; get more $, add team members!
  • Needs more organization

    By Nal. Lee
I've been using the months for 2 months now and it has a few minor issues that all have to do with the organization and convince of the app. One of them is that if if you do not finish whatever you're watching---when you come back to the app, it will replay from the very beginning. However, sometimes this was NOT a problem. It just simply continued where I left off. Another issue is that it does not have a "Continue Watching" or "Watch History", so I had to search for what I was watching every single time I closed the app. I did experience some connection problems, or what I thought to be connection problems such as my entertainment being very rudely interrupted by a blank screen with the audio still available in the background or freezing up. Also, it sometimes took a long time for my entertainment to load. I found that I had a much more pleasant and/or near-perfect experience when connected to high speed internet. Other than this I had no other problems. Even these never frustrated once. I simply reloaded the app or fast-forwarded through what I was watching to find where I left off.
  • Don’t waste your time!

One star doesn’t begin to describe the frustration and irritation that you’ll encounter when trying to use this app. First off, the layout is pretty crappy and when you click on one thing it takes you to another. I TRIED to sign up for a free trial because this is the only place besides Syfy to watch Harry Potter for free, it’s no biggie cancel it at the end of the 30 days right? NOPE! I can’t even get my free trial started because I have to enter my Apple ID info and since I don’t have a credit card on file, it REJECTED my free trial and told me I was unable to continue. Now why on earth do I need a credit card for a FREE trial?! So 20 minutes later, here I am, still unable to watch ANYTHING on the app (since apparently you need the free trial to do anything). I’ve had better luck with reasoning with my two year than this app! What’s the point in calling it a free app if you need a subscription (that you can’t get) in order to watch anything? Long story short: Don’t waste your time or money on this stupid app. It leaves MUCH to be desired, is overall confusing & seems like they just want to make money off you.
  • Beware - they don't recognize account user names when you change platform

    By Kresendes
Beware - they don't recognize account user names when you change platform. So I was working with HBO NOW's representative a few weeks ago. They assured me my account (which is tied to my Apple ID email address) that I could login on my iPhone via the HBO NOW app. I even told them that I had originally signed up for HBO NOW via Roku. I wanted to know if my login for the HBO now I pay for each month can be used on my phone. They said yes. They said the same email means it would work. I went to log in last week or so and it ended up charging me a NEW subscription fee... even though it's the same email address and account!! I'm so angry. They kept telling me that Apple is accountable for the fee and refund and that they can't resolve anything. They apologize that their system didn't recognize that the same account already had HBO NOW. So I'm reaching out to get a refund for the duplicate HBO now subscription I have paid twice for this month. HBO NOW has been awful to work with and crappy when trying to use on phone and stream.

I was happy to get this app until it cliches so badly, I don’t recommend this app at all
  • Ugh

I signed up for a subscription and was looking forward to use is it however whenever I tried to watch something the app kept telling me to sign up. After going through this several times I just said screw it and deleted the app this horrible!
  • What’s the deal

    By KT Honey
Let me start by saying I love HBO’s content, truly the best; that being said the app is TERRIBLE. We consistently have issues with an ‘error’ message over & over & over when trying to watch anything. It is not an internet/connection issue bc no other apps seem to just not work, it’s just HBO. Consumers pay for premium content & the app just can’t keep up. Do better.
  • Waste of money

    By Honeelove
The app take FOREVER to load a movie that I try to resume watching EVEN when I’m on high speed internet. I’m glad I got to experience the free trial because I would Never pay for this crap monthly
  • Not worth it!!! Constantly crashes!!

    By Krystina Marie
The only reason I’m giving this app 2 stars is because game of thrones is my favorite show and it bought it a star. Hbo go constantly crashes and takes a good 20 minutes to get working again. My internet connection works just fine and I never have a problem streaming from any other app! I have one more season to watch of G.O.T and I’m canceling my subscription. Sorry but $15 a month is just not worth the it!

    By basketballluver
The movie selection is great but my god I have never dealt with so many problems with the app/feature itself. It’s nearly impossible to watch on more that one device. Such a disappointment! They should know better especially since it’s so easy with Netflix and Hulu etc. you just sign on and that’s it. This is just so dang glitchy it’s not worth it. It had me make two subscriptions. I will be cancelling after my 30 days for sure. Disappointing.
  • HBO

    By Dytinkdn
As a subscriber I think that we should get movies and shows for free. It upsets me that we have to pay $15 per month, when it clearly states that on the website that shows and movies are free. It’s a good amount to pay every month, but it’s a little bit confusing knowing that you have to pay for movies and shows.
  • Great shows (obviously), but awful app, and difficult to cancel subscription

    By Mirk Brum
The only reason anyone suffers this app is because HBO makes such great shows. The app is worth 1 star, but the half a dozen shows HBO makes are so good. The scrub bar is so tiny it's almost useless (you move your finger half a millimeter and 20 minutes go by), the self-scrolling headliner bar keeps scrolling when you try to use it, and the organizational system they use makes it difficult to find out what they have (which is limited, but they make great shows and have a lot of random older movies). The problem I had that moved me to write a review is that I could not find a way to cancel the monthly subscription in the app itself, which I found sufficiently underhanded to make me angry, because I felt as though HBO was actively obstructing me from preventing their monthly charges (which appear as bill from iTunes, causing me to think the charges were for something other than HBO until I looked into it). You have to go through your device settings for iTunes and cancel the subscription that way. @HBO, be a big boy, and direct bill your customers; stop relying on cable packages and iTunes subscriptions. As of this writing, you just won a bunch of Emmys, but what kind of entangled, anti-consumer experience are you putting your supporters through for them to watch these deservedly award-winning shows?
  • Horrible

    By kra
This app is horrible. Feels like somebody at hbo is dedicated to make it as hard as possible to watch more than one episode a day of any show. UX is bad, discovery is awkward at best, resuming a series the next day is incredibly complicated, and the app is full of bugs (headphones clicker has an undefined behavior, some shows jump back to being half seen, some shows claim new episodes that can't be found). The shows' images load incredibly slowly, turning the app into a mostly black screen half the time. I find it harder and harder to justify 15 bucks a month for this app. The content is great, but what good is that if I can't watch it easily?
  • This is unfortunate.

I've enjoyed HBO Go for years... How is this app such a massive step back from that? This App is two cheeks and a crease... Constantly buffering... How can you compete with Netflix, Hulu, YouTubeTV etc with how sad this app is...
