What is Radiation Island?

Radiation Island is a survival adventure game that takes place in a parallel, alternate reality. As a player, you must explore this new world, gather resources, craft tools and weapons, and solve puzzles to find a way back to the real world. The game features a huge open world environment with breathtaking beauty and gigantic scope. You will encounter dangerous animals, zombies, radiation, anomalies, harsh weather, and hunger. The game also has a full day-night cycle, and you must face the dangers of darkness and cold. Good game, controls take a little getting used to, the mouse is for controlling the camera and WASD for movement. The keys don't work very well, for example pressing "E" is supposed to interact but doesn't work half the time.

This is not an action game. Just checking it out briefly, it’s already intriguing. The user has to collect items and build a bunch of stuff, like weapons and shelter. This is not easy. The first basic tools are no use for hunting or defending against the occasional zombie. Luckily, the zombies don't seem to be able to get into any (or some) of the buildings. Beware of nighttime: All of a sudden, my character was freezing and couldn't keep warm. Complete darkness set in, and I had no light. My food was running out quickly. I jumped into the first heat source, which turned out to be a radiated room. Compatibility with El Capitan: On the first attempt, the mouse cursor was missing. Reopening the game took care of that.

Now one of my favorite games, I find the game mysirius, intresting, and realistic, (exept for the Zombies…) The only bad part is for some reason the game creeps me out, but if you like somthing like that, click the download button, because this game is for you! I think part of the money you pay should go to Syrian Refugees, or Global Warming Protection. Give back to what you get.
Crashes with El Capitan on my MacBook

Update: New update works well on El Capitan. Update: The nice people at Atypical Games gave me a "work around” to be able to play the game, It is a bit cumbersome but I’m able to play. So it is back up to 4 stars (5, as soon as everything works properly). Game worked fine until I updated to El Capitan, now it won’t launch at all; that is the reason for the two stars. It is a great game, but if you have El Capitan on your system you should think twice before purchasing it. I’ll update this post as soon as the issue is fixed; it’s been a week so far, but I’ll keep my fingers crossed.
