Top Pcmac Reviews

  • Good so far

**Update** I have now noticed the bug that most other reviewers have mentioned. I contacted the developers about this because apart from this issue (which I believe has something to do with the ads in the game since it is generally after I close out an ad that the app freezes and I have to restart it) I enjoy the game. Because it is becoming cumbersome to continually close the app and start the app again, I may not continue until the bug is fixed. I took off one star from my first review for this reason. I wish there was an option to purchase a version without the ads. I only just started playing this game. I like how the first the app and rooms didn't have the feature where you need to "spend" keys to get into the next room/level because I have a feeling that the way this is designed is for people to spend more money in order to advance. I would much rather have a game with a one time fee to unlock all of the levels so that you can play freely rather than having to purchase individual rubies or coins, or whatnot. Otherwise this seems to be a cool game. I did enjoy the first the app and rooms as it was quite challenging and I had to really think about all of the clues and how they came together. Unfortunately, in the first game, the puzzles were not entirely straightforward and didn't Always make a lot of sense as to what you should do in order to find the keys.
  • Not as challenging early on. Screen freezes, too many ads.

I loved the app and rooms 1 and was excited to try 2. I like the vertical screen option but the ads are REALLY annoying and have nearly pushed me to quit playing and I just downloaded the app today. For some reason after every level I complete the main page freezes. I have to restart the app to move on. I also refuse to pay for in-app purchases so if it gets to the point where you're required to pay for keys to keep playing, I'll stop. I would pay a couple bucks for the app itself, with no ads. The improved graphics and ease of use are great. Love the addition of the note pad. I don't love the clues that automatically give you. I prefer to do the rooms with no help. Once they fix the freezing screen and reduce the ads, it will be way more fun to play.
  • Bigger improvement from the first!

I was skeptical at first because the first D&R was so difficult and illogical but so far I've only come across some difficult levels but they've all made sense and are challenging in all the right ways. I'm not too happy about having a limit on keys to unlock levels but it's sort of a good thing as it helps pace me instead of allowing me to play for 3-4 hours straight. Love the addition of a memo pad to help me keep track of clues and do some math. And the extra challenges with the star and quiz are a great addition as well. The graphics have also greatly improved. Keep it up! Love the game.
  • Better graphics but maybe not as clever as D&R1

I've only done the first chapter, so I may still eat my words, but I think these seem to be more straightforward, arithmetic-based puzzles. I miss the narrative sense that the empty hospital chapter (for example) had in the first game. I am also experiencing the annoying crashes and the irritation of having the ad banner on at all times. I would pay a modest app price to get rid of these issues, whereas I generally won't make in-app purchases.
