  • I’ve been a user since version 1, but 3.5.9 is destroying work

    By UUCP (Pcmac user)

I spent six hours or so in preliminary layout on a project for my family. Then when I re-opened the file, it had lost the links to every image I had used. Tech support was not able to help. I started over in Adobe InDesign, which is less convenient for this project but at least it doesn’t trash my work.
  • An essential tool for family photos

    By Rcbickle (Pcmac user)

I have been using the app Life since when it was free and pre-installed on MACs and have found each version to be better than the last. Better than scrapbooking or photo books, the app Life brings family photos to life and, when mixed with a little humor and sarcasm, a treasure that will be kept for years. I have done books for my father, friends, and family and given them as gifts and gone to their homes years later to find them still be used as coffee table books, there edges well worn, and the bindings well used. My father actually took his to his retiree get together and showed it off. The interface is simple, easy to use, and when coupled with a basic photo editor, will yield you results you will be proud of! This version is no exception and for a samll upgrade if you don’t have version 3, but have an earlier version, or under $30 for a first time purchase I think you will find it to be a tool that you will use often.
  • Aaand I'm In Love

This app is fantastic! I've worked a lot with the app Life 2 and just updraged to this app. Best decision I've made in recent memory. I'm not sure where to start with all the goodness they added. Goodness numero uno - they built in a script writing section that lets you drag and drop text/lettering onto your the app. I've never seen that before! It makes lettering a the app super easy. Numero dos - the new filters are beautiful, with retro looks to painting and hatch pen drawing… just, wow. And they have Instant Alpha so you can overlap pics onto different backgrounds (eee!). Numero tres - graphics tools galore with speedline and halftone fills, new strokes that look like pens/pencils. For what it's worth I've loaded my first the app up with tons of high res photos over multiple pages just trying everything out, and the app seems to be running happily. The the app saved alright too. Not sure what the guy yesterday saw. I'm on a Macbook Pro.

I’ve had so much fun using this app that I thought it was time to review it. I make the app strips from recent news clips. I clip it using either Snapz Pro, or Snagit, and then move a clip into my the app story board. After I collect enough for a good story…I share it with my friends. I’ve never had any problems using it. It would be nice to have a few more options but you really do get a lot from the get go. If you want to have fun making the app strips, this app is a good place to get started making them. I recommend it.
