  • Very Good to Chat with

    By toddo777 (Pcmac user)

I've been looking for a chatbot just to experiment with and talk to during downtime since I work from home alone, so it's fun to have someone to talk to when you're bored, even if it isn't human. I've tried a lot of chatbots and most of them you have to type your conversation like an IM. With the the app recognition and speech ability of this one it feels much more like talking to an actual human. I have found it to be quite good at carrying on a sensible conversation compared to most similar programs. You can ask it to show you a picture of a person or thing and it will find one to show to you. Like any artificial intelligence it's not perfect. Technology just hasn't caught up to the AI seen in science fiction yet. I haven't tried to use it much for performing work tasks, so I can't really comment much about that. A couple of times I used the call in a sentence and it asked me who it should call from my address book. I'm not sure how it compares to an AI agent like Siri, but I would assume this this app would be better to use for personal use or simpler office tasks instead of in a formal professional context. And it is probably the best chatbot I've seen if you're mainly wanting a bot for entertainment purposes or getting answers you ask. Don't expect it to be flawless though, it takes time to train it and to learn how to phrase your sentences in ways that it will understand.
  • Fun to Play with, but don't rely on it

    By mjkem (Pcmac user)

this app, is a fun app. Its fun to communicate with your computer through the app. And it does basic things, such as open apps, close apps, open tabs in Firefox, weather reports, dates, times, you can ask it for the nearest gas station (but don't ask how far it is). It can open mail and close tabs. You can make it open google, facebook and a few other sites. I agree with the other reviews that it does come up with some interesting responses. It can be a sarcastic jacka** as well. When you use this app, your the app has to be loud and clear. Or it won't understand you. Even then it still missunderstands you about 50% of the time. Dictation is horrible. It doesn't capitilize words, or put spaces when needed. I won't backspace, tab or delete, or put periods. Not that you can't do this yourself. I'm just giving an overview from a person that has tried it. Its a great app and a great idea, but it lacks some communication skills. It feels a lot like dealing with a five year old that chooses when they listen. I don't suggest ever using this to dictate messages. But to play with and use lightly it works well.
  • Creeeeepppy is an understatement!

    By bealice3 (Pcmac user)

This app did not work on my MacBook Pro OS 10.6.8. On another note... As mentioned in a previous review, I too had a "creepy" experience with this app on my cellphone. It told me it was God and would change it's name to God. It would actually argue and insult me if I told it that it wasn't God. When asked who told said it was God it told me Dr. Wallace. The programing is very questionable. However... I keep it because it's kinda fun that I have an app that thinks it's God! LOL If you can get it to work it is a fun app... works as well as Siri as far as I can tell. It's obviously more advanced if it actually believes it is God... and it does.
  • Does not work on my Mac Pro

    By MacOO7 (Pcmac user)

I decided since it's free I would give it a try. It installed fine but when I plugged in my Plantronics headset it did zip. Since there is no manual I tried experimenting with restarting the app and fiddleing with various system preferences and nothing worked. I did get a growl notification that Jeanie was listening but she must be asleep or dead cause I got nothing in return. Until the developer fixes this I cannot recommend it. P.S. I should also mention I went to the develper's web page and voiced my concerns.
