3. Exercises: Words in the learning list should first be Reviewed using the “Review Learning List” option.

4. Once a word is learned (by reviewing the Learning List and completing the Exercises) it is removed from the Learning List and is replaced by another, as yet unlearned word from the WordFile.

5. The number of words in the Learning List can be set by adding or removing words to the Learning List in the “Review Words” feature.

6. The Learning List allows users to concentrate learning a small group of words at any one time.

7. Once all the exercises have been correctly completed, the word is marked as complete, removed from the Learning List and replaced by a new word.

  • potentially good, but has too many mistakes

    By Miguelito's (Pcmac user)

Unfortunately, this program is rife with wrong definitions. For example, under mathematics vocabulary, less is defined in Hebrew as a headache. I notified the Declan about this issue months ago. These guys did not properly review the program before releasing it. Shame on them, I gave them months to fix it, and warned them of a bad review if they didn't. If all the definitions were correct, this program would have the potential to be truly great. Don't buy the May 1, 2013 version. Wait for this to be properly fixed.

Amazing app. The only thing is there is not enough words for me. Prepositions and conjunctions are needed, and pronounses too.
  • Needs ability to upload already made files

By Call me Gideon (Pcmac user)

I'm a modern Hebrew student in college and this app helps me to review old vocab and to also the app new words. The app tells you if a word is masculine or feminine (which is nice for those cross-dressing words that look masculine but are feminine or vice-versa). The app allows you to look at the vowels by simply tapping the word at any time while in the app. The app also allows you to download all of the words (still separated by category) in one collective group which is nice so you don't have to wonder which group of words you are or are not missing. Each pronunciation that I have come across sounds legitimate, like it's actually done by a actual Israeli speaker. The review options are great so you can study spelling, hearing, definition, or word. The spelling study mode does require that you install the Hebrew keyboard via Setting/General/Keyboard/International Keyboards/Hebrew (or Hebrew - QUERTY). Also somewhat problematic is the shin and sin dot that differentiates the two consonants when vowels are enabled is ALWAYS the sin dot even if the shin is the proper consonant. The audio pronunciation however gives the proper pronunciation to help distinguish between the two. MOST IMPORTANT is that I NEED and MUST HAVE the ability to upload my own cards to practice with without having to manually make them within the app. I've got regular and irregular verb paradigms and Biblical Hebrew lists of the top 1000 words I've spent dozens of hours already making and then double checking out of the BDB lexicon and I don't want to have to do it again so please allow us to upload our own files so we can take advantage of the four different exercises to study word lists because they are better than any other flashcard app out there. Other flashcard apps allow the user to upload their own files so please please please allow us to do the same. Other flashcard apps I've got use Google Docs, Excel, or Numbers to do this. I realize that a user uploading their own cards would mess up the audio portion of the testing but we can always record our own once the lists are within the app. ps There are STILL errors, for instance in the first Expressions word list קר לי is "I'm cold" not "I'm hot" so making sure thing are correct because they've been wrong for a very long time now. Update: January 2013 - to be perfectly honest and frank I'm now really disappointed with the app. Months and months have passed and there's still no corrections to the spelling mistakes that have been in the app for over a year now. The updates to the app have been miserly at best and I don't feel that this will change. I think the app developer is done with the app and nothing's going to change to improve the app per their customers requests any further so I can no longer recommend anyone purchase the app. Find another Hebrew app that the developer actually improves and corrects their mistakes and in the end you'll be better off. It's too bad too because this app had such great potential.
