This app is so great when in a country you don't have data in. I found it extremely helpful and it's free!
1) no data required
2) still shows you your location and compass heading on map
3) great help for finding sights and finding what is near you
4) can get you to the nearest Metro station

Works without wifi, great map (helps if you are lost), great for sightseeing - metro and pricing info, historical background excellent. Let me bookmark and make sure I did everything I wanted to. Only app I ended up using from the 10+ I downloaded.
