How to download and install Meetup on your Laptop or Desktop computer

3.5 Rating: 3.5 - 10,549 votes

If you want to install and use the Meetup app on your PC or Mac, you will need to download and install a Desktop App emulator for your computer. We have worked diligently to help you understand how to use Meetup for your computer in 4 simple steps below:

Step 1: Download an Android emulator for PC and Mac

Ok. First things first. If you want to use the application on your computer, first visit the Mac store or Windows AppStore and search for either the Bluestacks app or the Nox App . Most of the tutorials on the web recommends the Bluestacks app and I might be tempted to recommend it too, because you are more likely to easily find solutions online if you have trouble using the Bluestacks application on your computer. You can download the Bluestacks Pc or Mac software here

Step 2: Install the emulator on your PC or Mac

Now that you have downloaded the emulator of your choice, go to the Downloads folder on your computer to locate the emulator or Bluestacks application.
Once you have found it, click it to install the application or exe on your PC or Mac computer.
Now click Next to accept the license agreement.
Follow the on screen directives in order to install the application properly.
If you do the above correctly, the Emulator app will be successfully installed.

Step 3: Meetup for PC - Windows 7/8 / 8.1 / 10

Now, open the Emulator application you have installed and look for its search bar. Once you found it, type Meetup in the search bar and press Search. Click on Meetup application icon. A window of Meetup on the Play Store or the app store will open and it will display the Store in your emulator application. Now, press the Install button and like on an iPhone or Android device, your application will start downloading. Now we are all done.
You will see an icon called "All Apps".
Click on it and it will take you to a page containing all your installed applications.
You should see the Meetup icon. Click on it and start using the application.

Step 4: Meetup for Mac OS

Hi. Mac user!
The steps to use Meetup for Mac are exactly like the ones for Windows OS above. All you need to do is install the Nox Application Emulator or Bluestack on your Macintosh. The links are provided in step one

Meetup: Features and Descriptions

Meetup brings people together in thousands of cities to do more of what they want to do in life. It is organized around one simple idea: when we get together and do the things that matter to us, we’re at our best. And that’s what Meetup does. It brings people together to do, explore, teach and learn. For example, people run marathons, thanks to running Meetups. They write, thanks to writing Meetups. They change their careers, thanks to career Meetups. Because at Meetups, people welcome each other. They talk, help, mentor, and support each other – all in pursuit of achieving their life goals. Featured by Apple in “Best New Apps” and “Great Free Apps” Some popular Meetups include: Tech Meetup groups Moms Meetup groups Dads Meetup groups Fitness Meetup groups Hiking Meetup groups Career and Networking Meetup groups Support Meetup groups Book Club Meetup groups Photography Meetup groups New in Town Meetup groups Social Meetup groups Dog Meetup groups Language Meetup groups and 1,000s more Subscription plans: Want to start a new Meetup and become an organizer? App Reviews

  • One of my favorite apps

    By joat2b
Easy to use and helps me find fun things to do without a ton of searching and fighting through tourist suggestions. I especially like the changes they’ve made in the latest update. It’s a lot better than other apps for meeting people. You don’t spend hours asking ‘How are you today?’ over and over just to get burned out. Even if you don’t make a new friend, you still get out and have fun!
  • Worst Customer Service

The idea of the app is great and the app itself is great...until you encounter a problem. They are definitely trying to scam you and take your money. If you have a problem or they overcharge you there is no way to contact them. They have no phone number they just tell you to send an email. When you send an email they take about 3+ weeks to respond. I am being overcharged every month and am not receiving what I am paying for and yet there’s nothing I can do because they will not answer my emails. I will be deleting this app and discontinuing their service and having all of my members do so as well.
  • App is Great! People just don’t help

  • VERY un-user-friendly (app and desktop)!!😒

    By LaraCroft_NYC
Near impossible to find what you normally and frequently need to do, like cancel a meeting or edit a meeting or contact customer service (which, so far, appears impossible). Why are they charging monthly for such a BAD service/app?? Is it even possible to TERMINATE my account?
  • Suggestion

    By fhbebbe
You would get a lot more people using the app if you made a month free trial to host...
  • The worst social app i had tried

    By Amorchik
It don’t even deserve one star but I’m forced to put it to post my review this app is completely Waste of time and money everything wrong about this app let me bring it down for ya a couple things not everything !! Because I need newspaper if I write what’s wrong with it 1- the whole thing of paying to make groups it base on someone want to make money not doing it to help the state it should be free but it’s not 2- anyone can make group they pay their subscription which is sometimes can bring the worst group organizer, example my brother he went to the fitness group and the group organizer is idiot guy he training people and in the end he makes them do the warm up !!!!!! This steroid black dude is the most stupid person i had ever seen in my life cause even kids in elementary school they know you warm up and stretch the muscle before you workout on them and his group it all about his stupid business he doesn’t care about the people on group 3- i had joined to the German language group and after I post comment on meeting explaining that i may not be able to come to the group! The group organizer he deleted my comment so rude person don’t have ethics 4- posting fake group photo !! now i gotta be honest on this part i’m not black guy i’m white and there’s group about African culture and the organizer he post fake photo of bunches of white people !! If you are not proud to be black then don’t be the organizer to this group 5- most these groups they have problems about lack of connections they don’t connect with each other’s very well they didn’t come to the group meeting to make friends they come just to spend some time without connecting with others which is sounds very weird !! 6- some the groups they posting the time of meeting for someone jobless not for someone have job if you don’t have job I’m busy and I have job I can’t meeting you in morning or afternoon !! 7- the worst of the worst customer service ever ! I had struggled a lot to delete my account all the app on the universe they send you email immediately after you press I forgot my password these lazy idiots they made me wait two freaking days just to ask me !!! Do you wanna restore your password !!! Omgosh !!!!!!! Of curse you idiot that’s why I press I forgot my password !!! Then after another more 2 days !!! Ya i had to wait 4 freaking days just to restore my password after that i had deleted my account and I will never make account on this app
  • Acceptable and useful but can’t delete messages

    By MyNameJeff789
It’s a fairly basic app that serves its intended use. The message function does not have an option to delete messages or threads... this needs to be improved.
  • Good Luck Trying to Deactivate Your Account

    By Dayun123
There is no way to deactivate your account from the app itself or using the mobile version of the site. If you would like to deactivate your account, you have to use the desktop version. If you don’t have a desktop computer that means you have to look at the desktop version on mobile and try zooming in to figure out how to deactivate. Then, even if you are logged in on the desktop version of the site you will have to enter your password in order to deactivate, which if you had it saved somewhere or you were just logging in with Google seem to be impossible so you just have to change your password just to deactivate your account. I honestly would’ve given this app four stars because I enjoyed using it while it lasted but the process of getting my account deactivated was so frustrating that they get a one star rating from me. This can’t be that difficult of a fix, come on Meetup get it together!
  • It’s 2018 and I can’t filter by time?

    By Wrysosrs
I’ve been suggested meet up often by a lot of people but none of them work night shift. Obvious daycentric bias exits in this app. Why can’t I sort for morning only events or whatever time works best for me? Why can’t you see if an event costs anything up front either? I’m actually shocked at how much graphical data is included on the app yet none of it useful.
  • Where’s the iPad app, seriously

    By DSpaceNine
It’s bad enough that is blocked by my company’s firewall, and that I had to fish through and unfortunately view several dating apps in the app store before finding the official Meetup app, THEN I find out there’s no iPad app. This isn’t starting off well.
