If you want to install and use the OkCupid Dating app on your PC or Mac, you will need to download and install a Desktop App emulator for your computer. We have worked diligently to help you understand how to use OkCupid Dating for your computer in 4 simple steps below:

Step 1: Download an Android emulator for PC and Mac

Ok. First things first. If you want to use the application on your computer, first visit the Mac store or Windows AppStore and search for either the Bluestacks app or the Nox App . Most of the tutorials on the web recommends the Bluestacks app and I might be tempted to recommend it too, because you are more likely to easily find solutions online if you have trouble using the Bluestacks application on your computer. You can download the Bluestacks Pc or Mac software here

Step 2: Install the emulator on your PC or Mac

Now that you have downloaded the emulator of your choice, go to the Downloads folder on your computer to locate the emulator or Bluestacks application.
Once you have found it, click it to install the application or exe on your PC or Mac computer.
Now click Next to accept the license agreement.
Follow the on screen directives in order to install the application properly.
If you do the above correctly, the Emulator app will be successfully installed.

Step 3: OkCupid Dating for PC - Windows 7/8 / 8.1 / 10

Now, open the Emulator application you have installed and look for its search bar. Once you found it, type OkCupid Dating in the search bar and press Search. Click on OkCupid Dating application icon. A window of OkCupid Dating on the Play Store or the app store will open and it will display the Store in your emulator application. Now, press the Install button and like on an iPhone or Android device, your application will start downloading. Now we are all done.
You will see an icon called "All Apps".
Click on it and it will take you to a page containing all your installed applications.
You should see the OkCupid Dating icon. Click on it and start using the application.

Step 4: OkCupid Dating for Mac OS

Hi. Mac user!
The steps to use OkCupid Dating for Mac are exactly like the ones for Windows OS above. All you need to do is install the Nox Application Emulator or Bluestack on your Macintosh. The links are provided in step one

OK Cupid has been around for quite a while on the internets, but when I got back into the dating scene after a pretty long time I didn’t consider it right away. But I’m glad I eventually did. Yes, it has an app and here you are deciding if you should bother with it. People tend to use Tinder these days, right? But I’m glad I downloaded OKC and reactivated my account. OKC goes beyond tinder and the like in that they have questions that assess the user’s personality and leanings (political/philosophical/religious/relational/sexual or lack thereof) and attempts to match them with similar/compatible people. Answering the questions isn’t mandatory nor intrusive, but it helps a lot (and it’s also an icebreaker of sorts). So people on OKC tend to have put more effort into their profiles and seem to be more serious about meeting someone. If you are actually interested in reading (skimming, at least) a profile before swiping right, this could be the place for you. There are some limitations to the app but if you login on the web you can access a few more features. Without a paid account you can’t see who likes you. But if you do find someone who seems great, it’s an incentive to message them. If you both like each other then you’ll see the match. All of the dating apps have some UI quirks. OKC seems to function pretty well overall. If you’re looking to meet someone and want to get into some depth with the match, I recommend it.

Hi! I had an issue with having two profiles. In the same day I paid twice for an old profile from 10 years ago as well as my new one; both under the same email address. I received a response after writing to OKC a few times since February. I had misspoken and said that I have 2 accounts rather than two profiles. The response I got was “you do not have 2 accounts as it is not possible” and “your profile will be cancelled July 23rd”. While this was clarifying it did not clear up the fact that I had paid for 2 6 month profiles by mistake. It was my mistake so I don’t expect to be reimbursed though I would appreciate it if I could be. I updated the old profile that I have seen once in a while, so that things are consistent, which I see somehow, once in a while though I don’t know how to access it. One person I was corresponding with thought I had 2 profiles on purpose. I have addressed the issue by including an explanation in my self summary in both profiles. Any light shed on this would be appreciated. I don’t know if OKC indicates to its audience a member’s last time on OKC but I consider this to be something that I’d like to be private. I have friends and people I am interested in and don’t want feelings to be hurt because of my use of your site. I could use some help understanding how to control what other members see in my profile, namely when I am on the site. Thanks! Cat

The people you swipe left on get recycled back into doubletake if they change something on their profile. Which is only useful (from a girls perspective) if they went from one shirtless pic of just their torso, to any amount of pics with any face shots that don’t include sunglasses or extreme distance from the camera. OR if they finished writing their profile. And since you can’t filter profiles for free, I will usually block the doubletakes that I don’t want to filter back because either: I know the person, it’s someone I never want to date like a married couple or a woman (somehow they slip in??). However, I recently come across a open relationship profile that I had previously blocked (the day before). I know this because not only did I remember the profile and name, when I went to block them, my only option was to UNblock them. And I saw at the bottom that red banner that normally pops up after you blocked someone that says “you have blocked Mark”. Isn’t the point of blocking so I don’t see the person again??? I mean technically swiping left is supposed to do that. on tinder you can swipe down or up (one of those) to decide later. Seems like that should be an option here. Every time I see a repeat profile on the doubletake (even tho I’ve swiped left 4 times...) I feel like the app is saying “are you sure??? He looks really lonely, why don’t you just talk to him it looks like he needs it” like really?

This was once the best dating site around, but since it was bought by the giant Match conglomerate, they’ve gradually stripped away all the useful features. Their most recent change was removing the ability to see visitors, a change NO ONE wanted and that has been universally unpopular and agreed upon that it has finally completely ruined the site. They’ve been in a vicious circle of losing (active) users and removing features that drive more users away. What was once a great and fun site is now a featureless ghost town. Shame. RIP OkCupid. Edit: OkCupid responds… with the same nonsense they’re selling to everyone else. It seems OkCupid has a preternatural aversion to admitting they’re wrong. They keep citing their “research” (that they won’t actually make public other than self-referencing the supposed results) but ignore the FACT that well over 90 percent of the hundreds of responses to their blog announcement of removing visitors were clearly vehemently opposed to it. Same with the reviews here. Even if they did have “research” which showed this was a good idea (which I’m dubious of – this is a site that has admired to manipulating users before as a big social experiment, they’re certainly not above lying) the fact is that research was wrong. NO ONE likes this change and they just won’t listen or even acknowledge the overwhelming majority of users who hate their recent changes. They’ll stubborn themselves to their own demise.

  • Best matches but messaging should be easier

The match algorithm is always great and when go on a date, it’s always great. I just wish messaging was easier. I should be able to reply to push notifications like I can iMessages. Opening the app is too much work so I end up ignoring or missing messages.

Account was suspended and seriously have no clue why. Okcupid app says contact them if I feel that is an error. But how the f do I reach out and ask for support if the app does not give an option to do that. whoever designed the app like this has to go through the same thing and get into the annoying situation that will destroy the mentality so that okcupid's incoming profit money focused selfish mind and classifying people by taking different actions to the customers who pay and does not pay upon same issues occured while using the app. being eliminated and judged by the people who has more power and authority and their denial and elimination of giving an opportunity to speak out. please experience and get into this type of situation okcupid creators, then lets fckn see after if you guys would fckn do the same.

This app is the best! It actually assesses your personality instead of just looks. I love the questions it asks! I recommend this to all my friends!

When I joined, I didn’t know what to expect, but what I got I could write a book over. I do not think I have ever got set up with so many lunatics! There’s no screening filter, so you expect some weirdness, but oh my god I’m convinced some of these guys were down right dangerous! Just pay the money and get on the real dating apps. This one is a waste of time.
  • It’s all morbidly obese women

Seriously, the percentage of morbidly obese women is extraordinarily high. The remainder are mostly members outside the US and what appear to be bots trying to grab your personal data. Total waste of your time.

I’ve met great men through this app. Taking my time to enjoy the dating scene and it makes it a lot easier since I’m in college with a full time job. If you just want to be pen pals with someone this Isn’t for you. Chat for a day or two then meet in a nice public setting for lunch or dinner. It could all be so simple

I really like this dating app. It's simple and easy to navigate. What really sets it apart from other dating apps are the survey questions which I find very helpful, especially that you can read other people's responses and see how it compares to your own. Also, I like that people's messages only appear in my inbox if their is a mutual like. That is a HUGE + for me. I find that this site has more quality over quantity.
  • Good experiences...if you use your brain

Seriously, use your brain when online dating. You never know who is in the other side. There were lots of people looking for hook ups and couples looking for a third for a night but I have to say, OkCupid is a great dating app. I met my wife on this app. We were a 98% match. Here’s to 1 year of marriage and we are looking back and joking about how right OkCupud was to match us.
  • Hub of fake women

    1
    By Best Gesture
Okcupid was once ‘somewhat’ ok, until it started becoming the hoarding ground for 95% fake profiles. Most Caucasian women are actually black men from Ghana and Nigeria - their approach is so predictable. As soon as you refuse to pay using Western Union or Moneygram, they show serious attitude. They cannot talk over phone because their cellphone is very old, or very tiny (?). Worst part is when you report these fake profiles, they simply block from you, but these trolls keep hunting the next prospect. Shame on OkCupid. 👎👎
