If you want to install and use the SPG: Starwood Hotels & Resorts app on your PC or Mac, you will need to download and install a Desktop App emulator for your computer. We have worked diligently to help you understand how to use this app for your computer in 4 simple steps below:



Step 1: Download an Android emulator for PC and Mac

Ok. First things first. If you want to use the application on your computer, first visit the Mac store or Windows AppStore and search for either the Bluestacks app or the Nox App . Most of the tutorials on the web recommends the Bluestacks app and I might be tempted to recommend it too, because you are more likely to easily find solutions online if you have trouble using the Bluestacks application on your computer. You can download the Bluestacks Pc or Mac software here


Step 2: Install the emulator on your PC or Mac

Now that you have downloaded the emulator of your choice, go to the Downloads folder on your computer to locate the emulator or Bluestacks application.
Once you have found it, click it to install the application or exe on your PC or Mac computer.
Now click Next to accept the license agreement.
Follow the on screen directives in order to install the application properly.
If you do the above correctly, the Emulator app will be successfully installed.


Step 3: for PC - Windows 7/8 / 8.1 / 10

Now, open the Emulator application you have installed and look for its search bar. Once you found it, type SPG: Starwood Hotels & Resorts in the search bar and press Search. Click on SPG: Starwood Hotels & Resorts application icon. A window of SPG: Starwood Hotels & Resorts on the Play Store or the app store will open and it will display the Store in your emulator application. Now, press the Install button and like on an iPhone or Android device, your application will start downloading. Now we are all done.
You will see an icon called "All Apps".
Click on it and it will take you to a page containing all your installed applications.
You should see the icon. Click on it and start using the application.


Step 4: for Mac OS

Hi. Mac user!
The steps to use this app for Mac are exactly like the ones for Windows OS above. All you need to do is install the Nox Application Emulator or Bluestack on your Macintosh. The links are provided in step one

    No matter where I book my stays, since the merger nothing loads for upcoming stays. This is even after a call the upcoming hotel to confirm the stay. Everything else works.

    The merger totally messed up the app. I cannot even see my past stays and nights now.

    For one thing, if you’re going to keep the Marriott stuff. Please don’t make my life harder. This app loads photos very very slowly. I use to be able to view all photos on the SPG app. But now that it’s Marriott, I have to swipe one by one. And it takes about 10 seconds to load each photo in full screen. Then it’s not really clear if your rate has a deposit and how much that deposit would be. Also, the information I that I once got such as: pet policy, hotel contact info, property notifications are no longer available. Thus contacting the hotel is almost impossible to arrange logistics for my stay - another thing making my life harder. Please realize the technology that we former SPG members is what kept customer loyalty. Now it seems that we may have to look at other hotel brands to get what we need.

    Post merger between SPG and Marriott has ruined the SPG app by making it a copy of how Marriott’s app functioned. There is a definite lack of functionality now and it isn’t something I want to use. Off the top of my head something to mention Is the old app for SPG allowed me to do a search and use 4 criteria to sort the results by; e.g. AAA, corporate numbers, government, starpoints, or 3 corporate numbers and government, or aaa, gov and 2 corporate. That isn’t possible anymore and is something I enjoyed to allow me to see more results specific to my needs when booking for work travel. Please bring that back. Please bring back as much of the old SPG app as possible, this new version is disappointing and frustrating to use. You were great and can be again...

    Still can not show the name of room type in Info session, which does not allow Elite members to check whether the room has been upgraded or not.

    And what’s the use of an app that lets you check in on the phone but you still have to go to the front desk anyway for additional verification? Ha ha ha ha ha!!!!
  • App navigation makes no sense

    Just add a menu bar on the bottom please. Unfortunately this app did not alert me of the strike going on at my hotel so it’s actually also quite useless.

    Pre merger, the SPG mobile app was among the very best, a leader in the business. I preferred to make reservations through the app over the website. After going offline for the big switch, the app lost much of its functionality. Information is scarce and hard to find. Searching by city is especially confusing for some reason.

  • Hate the new update with Marriott

    I hate this new update with the Marriott ! I need to use TripAdvisor to look at the hotel picture!!! Every picture load extremely slow! By the fifth picture I give up, and plus I need to call in to check point can cash which I didn’t know it existed after the turn over with Marriott. With the switch over to Marriott I feel the customer service is not as friends as before too (off subject )please update this app to the one before which was amazing ! And easy to use !
