Took the money then held it hostage

I’m a consultant and my clients wanted to pay by credit card. the app seemed easy enough. Created and account, sent the invoice, client paid, but then the money never came. the app held it, said I didn’t have account history. Well, obviously, I had just opened my account. Then the app wanted a scan of my drivers license (they already verified my identity when I confirmed my bank account), three months of bank statements (none of their business, and they can see account established dates when they confirmed my bank), and a copy of the invoice—“you mean the invoice I created and sent with the app software?!”. What kind of joke is this? They could have asked for all of this upfront when I signed up and long before my client paid. But nope, they decided to wait and hold my money hostage before they “required” personal info any normal human would be uncomfortable sharing. When I tried to push back, the app sent me a nasty email, closed my account, and said the decision was final. They refused to talk with me on the phone. They refused to reply to my emails. Felt like a racket! Or a bait and switch scam. Wasted two weeks trying to get the app to profess a simple CC transaction. Apologized to my client. Set up PayPal. Everything went smoothly. Never doing business with the app again.
Worst customer service

I was paid $600 from a client 2 weeks ago and the money is still in my “the app account” but hasn’t been deposited for 2 weeks. I have emailed customer service about the issue 3 times now with absolutely NO RESPONSE. I tried to call the app for help on this, but they would not allow me to call. Only email. I’ve never seen such a “modern company” with such horrible customer service. The fact that they don't let businesses call in to get help is absolutely horrible. At this point, there is literally nothing I can do. Money is just sitting in the app but I cannot access MY OWN MONEY! Not sure if this is a way for the app to hold your money and make interest on it, instead of giving it to you...or if this is just horrible customer service, but either way the app is becoming my LEAST favorite payment processor and I am feeling ripped off and completely abandoned since they wont return emails or allow me to call in. Avoid using this company if possible!

I had to cancel a several thousand dollar job because the app decided they wanted to hold the money. The money was intended to purchase the materials, they would not release the money, they didn’t care that I lost that customer because of their extortion, they initially told me the account was suspended because of suspicious activity but when I asked exactly what that suspicious activity was, they told me there was no suspicious activity. They had absolutely no explanation as to why they were holding my money and insisting on me losing my customer. I will just keep using PayPal, they have never extorted my money. I think I should be reimbursed for the losses that they caused. Nobody else caused me to lose my customer except for the app. Worse way to accept payment as a business, take heed when you have a $10,000 job that you can’t do because the app is holding the money!!!!

I have used the app for years and run multiple business. While I do wish they would go down on their fees, I wouldn’t use another invoicing app as of right now. It’s really easy to use, have an invoice or estimate emailed within two minutes if you have it set up correctly. These bad reviews about the app holding money is probably shady contractors that are getting charge backs. I wish all shady contractors would shut down and go work at McDonald’s. It makes us all look bad. Especially those us of with integrity. the app is great when you use it correctly, just like anything else. Get it and you won’t regret it.
