If you want to install and use the Old School RuneScape app on your PC or Mac, you will need to download and install a Desktop App emulator for your computer. We have worked diligently to help you understand how to use this app for your computer in 4 simple steps below:

Step 1: Download an Android emulator for PC and Mac

Ok. First things first. If you want to use the application on your computer, first visit the Mac store or Windows AppStore and search for either the Bluestacks app or the Nox App . Most of the tutorials on the web recommends the Bluestacks app and I might be tempted to recommend it too, because you are more likely to easily find solutions online if you have trouble using the Bluestacks application on your computer. You can download the Bluestacks Pc or Mac software here

Step 2: Install the emulator on your PC or Mac

Now that you have downloaded the emulator of your choice, go to the Downloads folder on your computer to locate the emulator or Bluestacks application.
Once you have found it, click it to install the application or exe on your PC or Mac computer.
Now click Next to accept the license agreement.
Follow the on screen directives in order to install the application properly.
If you do the above correctly, the Emulator app will be successfully installed.

Step 3: for PC - Windows 7/8 / 8.1 / 10

Now, open the Emulator application you have installed and look for its search bar. Once you found it, type Old School RuneScape in the search bar and press Search. Click on Old School RuneScape application icon. A window of Old School RuneScape on the Play Store or the app store will open and it will display the Store in your emulator application. Now, press the Install button and like on an iPhone or Android device, your application will start downloading. Now we are all done.
You will see an icon called "All Apps".
Click on it and it will take you to a page containing all your installed applications.
You should see the icon. Click on it and start using the application.

Step 4: for Mac OS

Hi. Mac user!
The steps to use this app for Mac are exactly like the ones for Windows OS above. All you need to do is install the Nox Application Emulator or Bluestack on your Macintosh. The links are provided in step one

Download on Andriod, Iphone

Thank you for reading this tutorial. Have a nice day!

  • A large amount of the bad reviews are uninformed

    By BrungusWasTakenLol
After looking through about a hundred of the 1 star reviews i saw that a very large percentage of them were people upset about the progress of their characters they made a decade ago not transferring over. What they don’t understand is that jagex re-released oldschool runescape in 2013 and everybody needed to start from the beginning if they wanted to play. Their old accounts are still available to them on the “main” game. This is the oldschool version and the reason they are upset does not at all reflect the quality of this app. Oldschool runescape is a fantastic game which has been massively growing since its birth in 2013. Against all odds the outdated graphics and grindy gameplay has thrived in this generation of video games which are typically the opposite. If you’re looking for a mobile game with flashy graphics and an instant gratification gameplay loop giving you rewards every 15 seconds to keep you interested and offering you the ability to skip the gameplay for small amounts of real life money, then this isn’t the game for you. It is old runescape (the pinnacle of last generation MMOs) in all of its glory. Oldschool runescape has the best gaming community out there and is run by an extremely dedicated developer team who update the game almost 100% based on player feedback. Anybody who hasn’t given it a try is very much missing out.
  • Ignore the poor reviews

    By TheJerry(:
    1) Ignore all the poor reviews giving to this game. Especially JaredL42 guy. If you’re an old player coming back, don’t expect to have you old account saved. OSRS evolved over the years to what is now known as RuneScape3 (RS3) that’s where your old account is. Due to high demand of bringing back the old school RuneScape. Jaggex had to Re-create separate game (osrs) for the community to try save the player base. People were happy OSRS was back and that’s what they prefer to play while others enjoy playing RS3. So there for you have to start over for OSRS while your old account is still in RS3. Stop complaining and don’t listen to those whining spoil kids. 2) If you’re a veteran or returning player this is an awesome app! Great way to AFK training or even to kill time. There’s definitely things you wouldn’t want to do on mobile like PK’ing or maybe even raising against hard bosses. Just because it’s a little harder on mobile. 3) if you’re a new player this may take time to get use to, I’ll recommend to try the full experience on PC for you to get the full feel of the game then come to mobile. Because I do see mobile more beneficial to veteran players. Don’t get frustrated with the game, it’s an mmorpg there’s so much to do in this game and it takes time to learn. Overall I’m very happy with the work they have done!!
  • Amazing game but trouble banking

    By PunkPantha
This game is amazing. It’s amazing exploring the world and training to become stronger. It really feels laid back and retro. It’s a lot of fun. I would give the game one star for one aspect though, and that is banking. I have like 2000 gold coins. Every time I want to bank I have to click so many times to deposit or withdrawal my items or money. It can be really tedious to click hundreds of times just so I can go buy some bronze arrows. There should really be an option to withdrawal more sums of items without clicking a million times. I’ve decided to just keep my money on me at all times. I currently have 1,000 money in my bank that I just leave in cause I don’t feel like clicking a thousand times to get it out. It’s not a big issue but I hear people talking about 100,000’s of these coins and I can only wonder how they even deal with that kind of money! It must not even be intended to own that much. This game is phenomenal otherwise, but when I become rich and have money like 8,000 or even 10,000, if I put a couple months into the game and get lucky, I’d like to be able to keep my money secure in my bank. When this is fixed or I figure something out, this game will then be quite literally perfect. Thanks for reading and for any advice you might have.
  • Ohhh runescape

    By sutton120
Well this is pretty incredible, I started playing runescape when I was almost 9 years old. It gave me something to do at the boys and girls club while my parents worked. I played until I was about 14 non stop, and then it started to get loads of weird updates. I think a lot of stuff was cool, but it became to much to handle when I wouldn't play for a few months and I would come back to sooooo much wired stuff. I give this app 5 stars because for what jagex offers with runescape you could literally play this game for years for free, or like 7$ a month to be a member or something. I was a member most of my runescape life. I really wish that jagex could have somehow transferred my 14 year old character over to the old school runescape and just deleted all of the updated gear on that account, of course there should be a voucher stating that :WARNING if you accept to this you will loose all gear associated with runsescape after a certain date. And I would have been fine with that. I really miss good old fashioned runescape with my friends just grinding away XP to lvl up. I guess I will be waiting for RS3 :(. There's really no point for me to restart a character I put long long nights into for years.

  • Love everything but...

    By Legitos YouTube
I love OSRS and I am so glad it is on mobile but there is just one thing I am hoping we can get either fixed or changed? (I also don’t know where I should have posted this... 😅) It’s been bugging me since I have first downloaded OSRS Mobile since launch day but I was hoping maybe the name of the app that appears on my home screen could be changed to OSRS or OSRS Mobile or something that could fit. Right now it comes up as “OldSchoolRune...”. Again I’m not sure where else to post this but I’m hoping maybe someone will see this and maybe help get this changed, but other than that, I love OSRS! ❤️
  • Constantly crashing on iPad Pro 2018 and XS Max

Please fix this. It seems like this app is not optimized for the newer devices.
  • It’s legit!

    By Shcavok
I played Runescape a lot back in ‘06. My cousins and I would all play together while we were at our own houses. OSRS is pure nostalgia! Everything is the same. I love it, I’ve started playing it on my iPad for a bigger screen and better control. Super glad they’ve released mobile! The only thing I’ve experienced is lagging/freezing on a very full world, which is to be expected. And the music is very glitchy, so majority of the time I turn my volume off.
  • For all those who don’t understand

    By BlackLighten
Let me be one of many to reiterate the fact that “this game is a classic game”. I personally love it regardless of having to start over from scratch, for those that are browsing through the reviews on how the games played even if you have an account that was created the chances of you being able to transfer over into old School RuneScape it’s not a guarantee because it’s based off of the 2007 version. It’s better to make a new character and build up. Also this game is not mint to hold your hand through the entire game, it’s open world for you to explore figure out how to play. Personally I would’ve watch some tutorial videos on YouTube then made my decision as to whether or not the game will be interesting to me. it will not be easy but the challenge of the game is what makes it fun. Add me Commander A1
  • Great game

  • What gives?

I was going to get membership once some of my skills were a certain lv, but i wont be doing that until i can make my account secure and Ill change this to a five star review when you make it so players that sign in through game center are aloud to use two step authentication, i deserve a secure account just like every one else.
  • No Audio

    By señorfrogs
The game runs well, but there’s no music or sound effects. Maybe it’s just my device. I have an iPhone 8+ iOS 12.1, and I skimmed through some troubleshooting forums with no luck. I guess I could just search for the music on youtube, and play it from my laptop, but I suppose that sort of defeats the purpose.

  • Couldn’t be better

    By An everyday gamer
The iOS port of this game is fantastic. My only problem would be that it’s 2018 and this is the first mobile installation we are getting. Though I’m happy it’s here. This will allow old players to play again, new players to find the game, and current players to play more easily. I have noticed clicking to move in the mini map can be a little difficult given the small space. Maybe allowing for iOS controller use would be nice?? But alas this port does exactly what it’s supposed to do beautifully. Can’t wait for the rs3 release to drop. I’ve been an on/off RuneScape player for 10+ years, I would love to see the mobile ports to make the game as popular as it once was. Growing up, there was a time where all the kids in school new what Runescape is, it would be great to see a game like RuneScape to become popular again given its depth and complexity in a simple easy to play shell. RuneScape will always be a great game for all ages and shouldn’t be forgotten.
