Pros:

- Jump bikes are safer and handle bumps and turns like any bike

- Assisted pedaling allows for easy and efficient transportation while still providing exercise

- Built-in u-lock and dockless capability make it convenient to use and park

- Bright color makes it more visible and easier to find in a pile of bikes

Cons:

- App has an illogical issue reporting system

- Bikes with flat tires are not displayed as broken or unavailable in the app or on the physical bikes

- Lack of information on when the service stops running after a certain time of night

- App does not inform users when the service is no longer running at a certain time, leading to confusion and wasted time

  • Deceptive Trade Practices and Non-Existent Customer Service

    By OntheHill18 (Pcmac user)

EDIT: this app finally acknowledged their GPS was "misreporting" my end location and refunded the $75 in wrongful fees. I do still worry about future trips. For someone on lower income, losing $75 and it taking a week to get it back could be really devastating. Fortunately it was more of an annoyance for me. Either way, credit to this app for making it right. I have used this app frequently for months now, but recently their service has taken a nosedive. I've been charged $25 out of zone parking fees three times now, and none of my messages to the company have been returned. Terrible customer service. Watch out - I know well enough where the zones are, and just this morning I parked well outside the zone - in app GPS reflected this (i.e. well south of the Natiobal Mall in DC) - and the app failed to give me an out-of-zone warning. Then? $25 fee - bang! Gotcha! I am. I am not a tourist, I'm a regular rider who has suddenly found this app's parking fees to be inaccurate, arbitrary, and capricuous. My dozen messages over 3 rides have been ignored. I think this is the last straw for me and this app. I would suggest the buyer beware. If the app trucks you, they will Stone cold ignore you.
  • Great bikes, somewhat crappy app

    By Nvrsaynvr (Pcmac user)

I tried to make this app my commuting device of choice but the incidence of crappy situations is just too high. The app has an illogical issue reporting system. I have accidentally unlocked a bike with a flat tire 3 times. I wish the bikes would display as broken or unavailable, either in the app or on the physical bikes. Each time when I tried to log the bikes as broken in the app, I could not do so while on the trip. I had to end the trip, then go into my trips and find that bike, then log the issue. HERE’S THE CRAPPY PART: After I logged the issue, the bike still shows up as available for other users!!! So somebody else will have to discover the flat tire after me, even though I did my diligence as a user and reported it. Awful business model. This morning, I stumbled across 2 bikes that displayed “broken” on the bike, but not on the app itself. This is a horrible user experience — to walk a block or two to a bike you reserved only to see it is broken. I Now I’m on a lyft, late. Other than this horrible misstep, I love the company. The bikes are comfortable and fast, and the phone holder is extremely useful. The reservation system is great, except when I reserve a BROKEN bike.
  • Not working after a certain time

    By Tammylove2011 (Pcmac user)

I know this is an obvious situation, most scooters do stop working after a certain time of night, but they will tell you what that time is and if you try to rent they’re scooter it will tell you again. But this scooter seems to not have this info available anywhere. I was unable to find it on the app or any where I searched. I was hoping to find something that runs after 11 because that’s when I get off of work and have to walk 20 minutes to my car. I know that finding something like that is unlikely but I would at least like to know. After hours if you try to rent a scooter, it will not tell you that it is no longer running at that time, instead it will tell you that it is unable to connect and to try a different scooter. Me not knowing if it is a problem with the scooter is where I end up wasting my time late at night just to see it I can get one to work, then I end up trying a few different ones to realize it is probably not running at that time. Honestly all I want is to be able to get from work to my car at night quickly so I don’t have to nube scared .
  • Best of both worlds

    By KoBra1968 (Pcmac user)

Hi. I’m using the app and service in Santa Monica. Unlike the Birds or Limes, I love that this app bikes are safer and handle bumps and turns like any bike. Having the assisted pedaling is amazing and let’s me power past vehicles with ease while still offering me a good exercise. I love the built in u-lock and its dockless capability. And the bright color makes it more visible by idiot car drivers and to find in a pile of bikes. My only complaints for the app and the bike: - the screen on the bike needs to be backlit. - the interface on the app needs some improvement to allow finding essential info (pin and account and current status) more intuitive Otherwise, this is a great solution over the now ubiquitous scooters that provides a fun and safe way of getting around, with the basket and cup holder.
