If you want to install and use the Reddit: Trending News app on your PC or Mac, you will need to download and install a Desktop App emulator for your computer. We have worked diligently to help you understand how to use Reddit: Trending News for your computer in 4 simple steps below:

Step 1: Download an Android emulator for PC and Mac

Ok. First things first. If you want to use the application on your computer, first visit the Mac store or Windows AppStore and search for either the Bluestacks app or the Nox App . Most of the tutorials on the web recommends the Bluestacks app and I might be tempted to recommend it too, because you are more likely to easily find solutions online if you have trouble using the Bluestacks application on your computer. You can download the Bluestacks Pc or Mac software here

Step 2: Install the emulator on your PC or Mac

Now that you have downloaded the emulator of your choice, go to the Downloads folder on your computer to locate the emulator or Bluestacks application.
Once you have found it, click it to install the application or exe on your PC or Mac computer.
Now click Next to accept the license agreement.
Follow the on screen directives in order to install the application properly.
If you do the above correctly, the Emulator app will be successfully installed.

Step 3: Reddit: Trending News for PC - Windows 7/8 / 8.1 / 10

Now, open the Emulator application you have installed and look for its search bar. Once you found it, type Reddit: Trending News in the search bar and press Search. Click on Reddit: Trending News application icon. A window of Reddit: Trending News on the Play Store or the app store will open and it will display the Store in your emulator application. Now, press the Install button and like on an iPhone or Android device, your application will start downloading. Now we are all done.
You will see an icon called "All Apps".
Click on it and it will take you to a page containing all your installed applications.
You should see the Reddit: Trending News icon. Click on it and start using the application.

Step 4: Reddit: Trending News for Mac OS

Hi. Mac user!
The steps to use Reddit: Trending News for Mac are exactly like the ones for Windows OS above. All you need to do is install the Nox Application Emulator or Bluestack on your Macintosh. The links are provided in step one

  • I don’t want to use your app

I don’t want to use this app. I use Apollo because it’s more well designed and I prefer it in every way. Unfortunately, I used to use Alien Blue until Reddit took it over and shoved it’s annoying features in and essentially broke the previously well-bridged gap between users and developers. Apollo came along and solved that problem for me. I decided to rate this poorly because, besides the fact that I hate the mechanics and design of the app, I’m sick of the many shoehorned aspects of mobile browser Reddit forcing me into the app. I have to go through several steps to use it normally and ultimately I can’t view most comments without having to copy a link and move it to Apollo since Reddit decided to force users into their own app as the default. Crippling competing developers to promote your own app is obnoxious, obtrusive ads and constant “will you rate your experience?” prompts are obnoxious, and frankly the way Reddit approached the official app launch alongside breaking Alien Blue and then shoehorning the official app onto users has driven me to never choose the official app at all, even if it underwent a total overhaul. I really don’t care what Reddit does with the official app at this point, because shoving it down the throats of users tells me the app and its developers should not be supported. Very annoying app 0/10 I hate it.
  • Admins won’t do anything about hate groups

I guess Reddit was okay to me. If you’re into video games and tv shows there’s a lot of communities you can find on Reddit. Even though Reddit is mostly anonymous, it just seems like there’s not that much diversity in the user base. Maybe this reveals my own biases, but it feels like the majority of users are 20-34 year old straight guys who went to college for STEM. Which like, fine whatever, but it kinda makes every subreddit feel the same. But the reason I’m no longer using the app, or Reddit for that matter, is that its admins won’t do anything about subreddits that are safe havens for hate groups - racist, misogynistic, homophobic, xenophobic nonsense. When pressed about it, admins will say “they’re investigating” or that the hate groups “provide valuable discussion”. Neither of those things are true. They keep up these toxic subreddits because they generate ad revenue from people going to see them the same way people turn their heads to look at car wrecks. Does Reddit really want to profit off of hate, division, and misinformation? It sure feels like it. As much as I enjoyed my own little groups of subreddits I was a part of, I can’t find it conscionable to stay when my presence is giving them ad revenue to prop up hatred.

Before I get into the review I'd just like to point out that all that follows is my opinion and that any domain with public access, especially on the internet, is going to have some bad eggs and some 'flaws' (circle jerks for example). That being said, if you can get past what is to be expected of the internet, Reddit is a haven of free speech and the sharing of ideas, it is a source of endless interaction with others around the world. Reddit is an underrated entertainer, a place where art is shared and artists can make a name for themselves. Reddit is a trusted source for reviews and information ranging from the mundane to the extreme, and from personal to fantastic. I've come to rely on Reddit when deciding if something (such as a game) is worth buying or whenever I have burning questions regarding any kind of lore I'm interested with at the time and it hasn't failed me yet. I was using Reddit years before I made an account and I'd recommend it to anyone. Thank you for reading! TLDR: "Reddit is a haven of free speech and the sharing of ideas"

Reddit is truly a great platform for people to find basically anything and everything they’re interested in. However, there’s not a lick of privacy at all. In today’s world, everyone is offended by everything. Someone who reads this will probably be offended that I suggested everyone is offended by everything. And this is the problem. When you join one specific subreddit, there are a wealth of trolls who hate the context of your subreddit, so they go to great lengths to harass others. Reddit says they discourage “brigading” but it happens continuously. And if someone is harassing you, you have to wait for the admins to do an “investigation”. You can’t block people from seeing your posts/comments. Because of this, people are free to harass you in any way they see fit. It’s fine to disagree with others...or even mock them in another subreddit...but do so privately if you have no interest in actually discussing things with that person. All you’re doing is ganging up on that person for your own sub’s pleasure and gain.

  • Great app, wish it didn't reset when I leave the app

I'm so happy that with the last redesign, they added previews back to the snippets so you can see what a post is about without having to open it. Yay! I love this app. The only thing that drives me crazy is that sometimes if you literally leave the app for 2 seconds to check a text or something, the app resets and you lose your place. If you were in the middle of writing a comment that may have been a page long, you lose everything you typed. This is a problem because you may want to include a link in your post or comment, and you can't leave the app to get that link to paste without risking losing everything, so you almost have to write it all out in notepad and then copy paste it into Reddit to keep that from happening. But other times, I've left the app for hours, and it still was right in the place I left it when I opened it back up. There seems to be no pattern. I wish this could be fixed. But overall, great app!

Can’t copy text anymore on iOS. Force touch simply collapses the comment. I am on a foreign subreddit that I need to translate.

I love reddit so much but can only access via iPhone & I use the app (which doesn’t make a difference anyways) but I can never edit or write my own flair. The options just do not exist on my app it’s so annoying and inconvenient. AND it’s always “unable to post” most stuff I try to post until like an hour later. The community is awesome though

Great app, but the recent update ain't let me open without it crashing. Probably a rare case, but still broken for me at the moment.

New update crashes every time I open the app. I’ve restarted my phone twice and closed all other apps and it still is doing this.
